    Schon R10 w/ Ron Thomas 1 x 2

I am surprised you are selling it, wish I had the funds to reunite it with its friend here, the R2 I bought from you (which is awesome btw-never to be sold by me!) These R series cues really are something. GLWS.

    Dallas West

What a great thread. I have an interesting story to share related to the 100 ball commentary tape. A good friend of mine, coach and pool mentor to me, 'Chicago Dave' Gorgas was there in Rockford on the day they shot that 100 ball run. He was one of the few spectators. That video was Dallas'...

    College Billiards In San Diego

I have been to On Cue and O Billiard Cafe last night. Had a good time at both, lost a straight pool game at On Cue to a good player (Dan?) on a pretty tight table. Then I played some last night at O Billiard Cafe, had a great time ended the evening playing against a local woman named Hydrid...

    Steinway Billiards/Cafe

As part of my traveling for my real job, I get to visit many pool rooms around the USA. I've been to about 40 now in the last 4.5 years I've been playing pool and I think Steinway is just about as good as it gets. Great room, lots of great players, owner named Manny (sp?) was really cool to me...

    Recommendations for disciple building drills

I like this simple stop shot drill I was given by my instructor Chicago Dave Gorgas. It really will groove a straight stroke and has helped my game more than any other drill I have ever done (many). Set up a ball 2'-3' from pocket and cue ball 2'-3' away. Shoot a stop shot. Grab another ball...

    Jean Balukas - I've got a secret

Amazing...she stays down and keeps her head still at 6 years of age better than 90% of the people you see in most rooms who've been playing 30 years!

    Advice for new 14.1 player?

I would also highly recommend Jim Rempe's videos from Accu-Stats, How to run a rack and how to run 100 balls. Both are great and contain a world of information in an hour's worth of tape. Glad to hear someone else is taking up the true artists game. I hope you paint some nice pictures!

    looking for a 14.1 game

Did you try Bob on here or via the Drexeline Facebook page? I am surprised he wouldn't respond, doesn't seem in his character...good luck and I hope you find the competition you are looking for...wish I could give it to you but I am not ready yet (need a couple more years of seasoning before I...

    looking for a 14.1 game

Have you tried Bob down at the Drexeline? He's one of the best locally... I hope you can hook up with Andy T here in Downingtown and play - if I am lucky enough to be free I'll come watch. there is another player here that comes in named Jeff (last name?) who plays pretty sporty, not sure if...

    Russian Ken

I have only one opinion on this matter - if pool is to have any chance in the USA we need to get people like the Russian on television along with others that are as entertaining and creating as much drama and emotional reaction around pool. As much as everyone is complaining they are still...

    TAR 39 The Last Waltz

This is sad news. The TAR matches I have purchased via onDemand have been some of my favorite viewings of pro pool. I have also enjoyed the podcasts very much, they have accompanied me on many road trips (as audio only while driving) and I wish you the best of luck in future endeavors. Thanks...

[Drexel Hill, PA] Plenty of 14.1 players between Noon-6 on Sat/Sun

Mickey is no longer the owner, Brian Walker is the new owner and it is now operating under a different name (Cue Something?) but I believe all the street front signage hasn't been changed yet...Mickey sold 4 of the 8 GC III's and now Brian has replaced them with a few Gandy's and a 7' for the...

    Giving weight!

Yeah, it's worth it. I'm taking every beating I can fit in my life schedule, winning sometimes (big spot!) and losing often. He's taught me a whole bunch on the side and with the time watching while stuck in the chair. Getting back on the horse this Friday I hope, last Friday he ran 85 on me...

    Giving weight!

Yeah, that was in 2 games against me...he ran 62 off the break and then I got 16 or 17 and he ran 92 (88 and out but tried to keep going and get the 100 at my suggestion) Next game was me first with 10 balls, I missed and then he ran 110, I made 18 and he ran 40 and out. World class on that day...

[Drexel Hill, PA] Plenty of 14.1 players between Noon-6 on Sat/Sun

You can also get some nice 14.1 games at Classic Billiards in Pheonixville or D&D Billiards in Downingtown. If you come to Downingtown Mon/Wed/Fri or Sun between Noon and 4pm you can probably get a game with Andy Toth as he is working there right now. You may want to bring a cushion for your...

    POSTER--One Foot On The Floor

I spoke with Lou, the original photographer a couple times in the last week. He does have a few of these left to sell, I believe five or so. He would sell them for $50 each plus shipping if anyone is interested. original photo was taken in Downingtown PA, circa 1990. Picture can be found here...
