    Butterfly

I have seen this a couple of times and can't understand it. The JP for the butt has a hole in the top!! Why isn't it a solid piece like the JPs for the shafts? Will the extra length make it too long for the standard case? It may be silly but I would want them all to match. Is there a reason...

    2 new diveney's

Hi - I love the quilted sapele forearms. Do you know if Pat cored or impregnated the sapele? I have a custom cue with sapele points and butt sleeve but didn't know how it would be in the forearm. Very nice cues, DukeofDBQ

Continental won't let you insure pool cues!

I agree that your homeowner's insurance (maybe "renter's insurance also) will cover losses while travelling. I discussed this at length with my agent prior to last May's BCA in Vegas. He further told me that I didn't have to have a separate list or rider for coverage. Most policies list the...

Thomas Wayne for sale on ebay.

Wayne cue The cue was refinished by Troy Downey, a cue maker whose name is often mentioned favorably on AZBilliards. I spoke with him this morning and he confirmed he did the refinish and advised the cue had no "issues". So, lucky me!!! DukeofDBQ

Thomas Wayne for sale on ebay.

Fellwo AZers - I ended up the high bidder for this cue. Per the seller the refinish was done by Troy Downey, a cue maker with a pretty good reputation. Final cost was $1000 including shipping so I don't think I "stole" it but likewise I don't think I messed up too badly. What do you think...

    Cue handling in airport

I was really worried in traveling to the BCA in Vegas as I was taking several expensive cues. Several airlines have a maximum limit on the amount of additional insurance you can purchase - in my case the limit was $ 5000 and that didn't cover even half the value. Turns out my homeowner's...

A none murdered animal cue please.

I'm no expert but I think ivory is banned unless it comes from old, legal sources. Scott Zachow of Canada (www.zaccues.com) makes beautiful cues using mammoth ivory. This is ivory from prehistoric wooly mammoths and is collected in the Canada wilderness. He will build you any cue you want...

    Full Splice cues

I have seen quite a few posting on AZ about John Davis's full splice cues. Mark Bear also makes full splice cues. Are there any AZers with knowledge about these two makers?? All opinions are welcome

Mike Gartland : Members beware !!!

I also had an extremely pleasant with Mike at Quality Cues. One of his early listings on Ebay was a Perry Weston with Snakewood and ivory point (high-low) with reversed points in the butt. This cue also had "flame" veneers. It is the most expensive cue I have purchased and is truly stunning...
