is really that the cue improves my game?

Tashworth's recommendation of a Predator is strange, since they make only expensive cues. Cost is relative to how much money you have, how good you are, how often you play and how specific your wants are. If you're a beginner Players makes good solid cues for $100, their HTX series uses better...

Another strong review of a Lucasi cue

Thanks for your feedback Franky4eyes. From what I've read and been told by dealers Lucasi's quality control and manufacturing process has only continued to improve over the past several years as well. I've heard differing opinions on the uni-lock joint which is why I got the 3/8x10 version...

    Lucasi Hybrid shaft...really like it

I bought a Lucasi Custom LZL-14 a couple weeks ago. It's a limited edition cue and is beautiful. I was able to pay an extra $60 to upgrade to the Hybrid shaft, which is a radial 8 pc laminated shaft. The cue has an implex collar, 3/8x10 joint, and a leather wrap. I have a Pechauer and a...

    Meucci Cues

Sorry Mr. Meucci but you imply anything negative said about your cues is either false or part of some conspiracy and I have a difficult time believing that. I've never used one of your cues but I've read so many comments on this forum, from so many different people, that are so consistently...

Another strong review of a Lucasi cue

I just got a limited edition Lucasi LZL-14 from Billiard warehouse and upgraded to a Hybrid radial shaft for an extra $60 and it's a great cue. I have a Pechauer and a McDermott with a G-Core shaft but this Lucasi is now my favorite. 3/8x10 joint, implex collar and leather wrap, beautiful...

The quality of Schon cues vs the quality of Joss cues

Pushout...what a needlessly mean-spirited and unnecessary thing to say. Someone's asking for the opinions of others, to get some help, and this is what you contribute? "Better to be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt."

How many of you play multiple cues?

I'm a relative newcomer...not an advanced player but I'm working on it by playing a lot and am working hard to get better every day. I love the game and take is seriously. I have a firmer cue (Pechauer) and a softer-playing cue (McDermott) and they're both better than I am, but they play a...

    Mcdermott Star series

If you really like the 3/8 10 wood joint Star is fine. If you do a search of the forums you'll see there seems to be a consensus that Players cues, as mchnhed said, are about as good as you'll find in a low cost cue and they offer a great variety from which to choose. Good luck.

As always Ched, we readers appreciate your well written and well thought-out feedback.

    Stout case reviews

Hey Rackattach. I'm on your side. The JB guy's a little aggressive here. I tried to contact JB cases with a question and neither my call nor my email were ever answered. I got a Stout 3x4 case and it's great. Are JB cases better? Perhaps, but taking a good idea and making it readily available...

Question about Instroke Premiere 2x4 Vinyl Case

I heartily recommend the Stout cases at Seybert's. There are those on this website that don't like them only because they say they're knockoffs of JB cases, but I tried to order a JB case and neither my calls nor emails were ever returned so I went to Seybert's, got the Stout 3x4 case in a...

    Joss warranty?

I've had some Joss users get really defensive about my question above and talk about what a legend Dan Janes is, and that's fine, but I was actually mocked for thinking a better warranty would be a good idea. For people who've had nothing but great experiences using Joss cues I would expect you...

    OB warranty work

Good to hear about a company that stands behind their product and provides that kind of customer service. I have a recent question on this forum about this very topic, and about Joss having a less user friendly warranty than most other quality made-in-USA cues. I got some harsh comments from...

To BeCue or Not to BeCue - That is the question

I can relate. I'm fairly new to the game and am already fighting the urge to buy cues faster than any reasonable person should. If you're not spending more than you can afford then go ahead and buy yourself some toys! I've never heard of BeCue so I await your update as to how you got it and how...

    Joss warranty?

By coincidence...I own a Hyundai Sonata and it's been a great car but recently had some suspension problems that would have cost $hundreds repaired for free with a smile. I was glad I had that 100,000 mile warranty then.

    Joss warranty?

Thanks for the feedback. As I said...I may buy a Joss and I know historically they have a solid reputation but want to be sure they're making a product with QC controls in place where a weaker warranty than their competitors won't be a concern.

    Joss warranty?

Hard to go backwards if one doesn't keep records, but I'm pretty good about keeping receipts for years. Better than that though...most cue manufacturers, including McDermott and Pechauer, which I own, allow you to register the purchase on their websites. Reasonably though, I probably wouldn't...

    Joss warranty?

Not a good analogy. Hyundai (and Kia) are the only 2 out of many manufacturers with the exceptionally long warranties whereas virtually ALL the high quality USA cue makers EXCEPT Joss offer the longer warranties. That doesn't mean they make better cues than Joss of course but by definition I...

    Charleston, SC Pool Rooms

There are 2 locations in the Charleston area of Players Place Billiards. I go to the one in North Charleston and really enjoy it. Probably about 30 tables, no smoking, and a friendly staff. New ownership has put some new felt on some of the tables. The food isn't necessarily something I'd...
