John Higgins 147 today at the Crucible!

Plenty of people agree with you on this side of the pond too, personally I believe his story, but we'll never know the truth of course. However, it is important to note that the full tape was never shown to the public and the other 'evidence' was not made public either. Its worth reading...

John Higgins 147 today at the Crucible!

Snooker prize money is decent....the top players* (including Higgins) are all multi-millionaires, so no he wouldn't dump a game for a quick 50k (or at least he would be crazy to do that). However, lower down the rankings there have been plenty of matches thrown, but any suspicions are acted on...

John Higgins 147 today at the Crucible!

Stephen Lee was treated harshly, not because of the offence, but the evidence was very light and his ban wasn't mitigated despite that (it also applied to all cue sports, he's not allowed to play in 9-Ball or 8-Ball tournaments either, at least not in the UK). With Higgins, the video made...

10' Tables Future Of Pro Pool??

That's interesting, I think there's a couple of clubs with Chinese tables here in the UK too, but not sure. It will be interesting to see if it really takes off, I'm not convinced it makes sense for 9-Ball, but for 8-Ball (obviously) and possibly 14.1 it could be interesting. That said...

10' Tables Future Of Pro Pool??

From a practical point of view, would a 9 foot Chinese table make sense (if people want something different) as it would fit into the same space as a conventional 9-footer, but plays harder because of the rounded pockets?

10' Tables Future Of Pro Pool??

I've always thought this (tbh I think snooker should too, to some extent, if there was background noise all the time it wouldn't be offputting, unlike silence and then someone making a noise on the shot), after all there's generally noise in clubs where people practice! It doesn't have to be...

Making a cue to Snooker or UK Pool spec

This guy comes highly recommended too (apparently, a few of the guys on the IPA tour use his cues and some of those who've given Chinese 8-Ball a go), he might be able to help (given what you're looking for is close, albeit not quite the same as a 'Chinese 8-Ball cue')...

Making a cue to Snooker or UK Pool spec

Stuart Bingham (as in the ex-World Champ) has exactly what you are looking for, have another look: https://twitter.com/Stuart__Bingham/status/877999350521241600/photo/1 https://www.cuecreator.com/frequently-asked-questions-2/ He has a snooker cue, but with an 'American Pool' style design...

The reason I prefer 8 ball over 9 or 10 ball.

Absolutely, that's kind of the debate I guess (and probably why no-one will ever agree :-) To me its crystal clear that the game is different to the way you play the game, therefore there's no argument...however many (most perhaps) disagree, hence the debate lives on :-)

The reason I prefer 8 ball over 9 or 10 ball.

This is very similar to the snooker v pool debate... As with that, the logic is the same here in that to win any game it is tough, its no easier to win at 8-Ball or 9-Ball against any given opponent (assuming equal skill levels), but it doesn't change the fact that the game of 8-Ball is...

    Color commentator for Mosconi Cup

Fair point, although people from Yorkshire may disagree ;-)

Darren Appleton isn't Scottish, are you thinking of Jayson Shaw?

    Played on great billiards tables.

If we're being picky, both Billiards and Snooker are technically played on an English Billiards Table (which is now commonly referred to as a snooker table :-).

2 inch balls on 7ft bar box

The confusion is because that site is a British one, I can see how it makes little sense to everyone on here (and it could be worded better), but as we don't really have 7ft American tables over here (they are almost always 9ft, occasionally 8ft), a 7ft table would automatically be assumed to be...

2020 WPA World 9-Ball Championships to Matchroom?

Probably true, but worth it, if they have a Matchroom (or similarly slick, run by someone else) 2021 version.

2020 WPA World 9-Ball Championships to Matchroom?

I hope this is okay to post (if not I'm sure someone will remove it!), but this was posted on the British Pro9 site this morning: http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/viewtopic.php?forum=5&topic=6235&start=600#f125949 It says that next year's World 9-Ball will not take place in Qatar, but another...

SVB vs O'Sullivan 14.1 Challenge Match

Ha, say that again once you've seen one of our high street's on a Friday or Saturday night ;-)

SVB vs O'Sullivan 14.1 Challenge Match

Ah, that makes more sense! There is a world of difference between a 5 x 10 and a 6 x 12, very different games. That said, I'm sure in Jimmy's autobiography he mentioned something about Efren hitting ton's (I assumed he meant on a full size table as we don't really have many 5 x 10's over here)!
