    Mosconi Cup week 2018

Its been going on for years and even though I've been there myself virtually every year (apart from this one) in London I still haven't worked it out! I think sometimes (on here) people moan unfairly about the loud atmosphere...however on that point I agree with you, the timing is often...

    Mosconi Cup week 2018

I don't disagree (and I say that as a Brit), very odd behaviour...I think he'd got himself so worked up backstage that it all came out, but still surprising.

    Mosconi Cup week 2018

What was more amazing was celebrating in the final rack on maybe the 5-ball. However confident you are...that is premature, even the best of the best have missed under pressure!

    Mosconi Cup week 2018

Oddly...(according to Jason, based on that interview) its because apparently SVB was claiming he 'owned' Jason on social media!! Sounds like his wife was winding him up to get him pumped up...but it did work!

    Mosconi Cup week 2018

I look at it like this, lets pretend I'm playing SVB at 9-Ball and lets pretend we play 3 sets, the first is on a hypothetical table with 10" pockets...the next is with 5" pockets and the final one with 3" pockets. The first set I win the lag and the bookies make me the favourite. I run out the...

    Jeremy Jones

Another vote from me! His commentary was excellent, not just what he was saying, but he has the right personality and voice for commentary too.

Mosconi Cup Tournament Table - Opinions?

New cloth, TV lights etc. means the tables always play loose, especially on day 1.

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 1K Centuries - Contest!!!

I think thats exactly the case, there was no official definition of when it started (i.e. is it when the player gets out of their seat, when they approach the table or when they physically strike the cue ball for the first time). Some as you rightly say, therefore would argue the break itself...

    Tyler was impressive

Totally agree with this (apart from the Go USA bit obviously...if you check my location ;-), but he looked very solid and I hope for the sake of the Cup its the sign of things to come!

    USA vs. England, MC warmup

The team England put out was (including the captain) the finest our little country has ever seen (I fully appreciate the same can not be said about yours, but at least you've discovered a new star), sadly however (from our point of view) they were well below their peak. If Appleton and Boyes had...

    USA vs. England, MC warmup

On an unrelated note, if Matchroom haven't already (and they probably have), they need to sign up Jeremy Jones as a full time commentator!

    USA vs. England, MC warmup

I could be wrong (as I don't know the guy personally), but I believe he plays with a customised cue with a snooker like taper, very similar to what is now marketed (at a premium price of course) as a 'Chinese 8-Ball Cue'. So a smaller than average tip for an American cue, but (probably not) a...

    USA vs. England, MC warmup

Agreed, in the last hour or so Team USA have been by far the better team, playing some really nice shots under pressure. Looks like it could go to 6-6 with USA having all the momentum!

    USA vs. England, MC warmup

What I find odd is that its not technically difficult shots being missed by Team USA, but 'pressure' shots (i.e. in the deciding rack). That is just about acceptable in the Mosconi Cup...but not under a Railway Arch in South London with no fans and a couple of cameras!!!

    Members in London?

Its changed a bit I'd imagine (they had a big re-modelling about 5-10 years ago..can't remember exactly when). Its now effectively 3 levels: Ground: English Pool 1st: American Pool + 2 snooker tables (and a couple of poker tables) 2nd: Snooker I don't think the action that was once there...

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 1K Centuries - Contest!!!

I believe that was always the case, wasn’t it? In recent times at least its only been for 147/155, it’s posisble it was different in the 80’s, but no-one tested it :-)

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 1K Centuries - Contest!!!

There was apparently a buzzing in the arena, couldn’t hear it on Eurosport, but the commentators could. Luckily they manged to fix it!

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 1K Centuries - Contest!!!

It is only for a 147 or 155. 148-154 is not a maximum and may win the high break prize, but not any maximum prize.

    Ronnie O'Sullivan 1K Centuries - Contest!!!

On fire is being generous! By his standards he’s pretty poor, not scoring consistently, missing a few and poor safety. Still cruising though!

    Haha possibly yes!
