Pool isn't too much different in your last statement. SVB plays the table, much more so than he plays his opponent. Unless it's some kids birthday and his mom wants to get a video of an 8 ball match, then things might get different...... :cool:

Whelp, an update - I went two and out. Very bummed out the rest of the weekend. No excuses for it, I just showed up not knowing how to play pool anymore. The cloth was Brand spankin' new, done the night before. The balls were all clean and polished. I missed so many easy balls, and missed...

Even my ankles cringed at that, eesh. At least a couple toes broken, but it looks worse.....o_O

Well said and thank you. I really want to take it serious. As for the comments from others, I'm taking everyone's advice to heart. Tonight is my last night of hard practice before the tourney. Taking Friday off from pool, and gonna take a hot bath and pack all my snacks and hopefully lunches...

Well said. I think the last time I exclusively played with a non-LD shaft was when I had a couple of Nick Varner cues back in the day, about 10 years ago. Had tiger snipers on them and I think I may have played better than I do now, back then.

Dang, it's a very different feeling when I grab one off the wall. Have to say, some house cues I've picked up do play very well, it's all about the tip and having a clean shaft (no big dings)

I ask because just ordered a cue that will be done end of the year. When asked what kind of shaft I wanted, I just replied "the standard" but in 30inches. I currently play with a Mezz WX700, also in 30 inches.

With all this new technology being constantly thrown into the cue and equipment aspects of pool, I'm curious: For those of you that play with layered tips, CF shafts or ultra LD shaft technology, has anyone gone ALL the way back, to a standard hard rock maple shaft, and like.... a Lepro or...

With the title of the thread being "Pools 15 most influential people/brands"....tacking on "not a regular pool player" is a bit odd. Are we talking about pool people/things that influence people OUTSIDE of pool?
