    Slow play by pros

Kinda dumb thing to say. If it’s a hill-hill match or any match and my opponent is shooting the nine, misses his pocket and it goes 3 rails into another hole, he wins. In 10 ball he would not have won because he missed his intended pocket. That’s why slop shots(9 ball) should not be allowed in...

    44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

Probably a stupid analogy that everyone will laugh at but before I had a popping break I would work on it all the time. I mostly kept a low stance and just focused on grip and getting more speed in my forearm. reminds me of boxers who had no power and they were called arm punchers. I would see...

    Pool Inventions of the Future

I was in a pool hall decades ago where they had a rack boy. When you needed the balls racked you tapped your cue, mostly house cues back then, on the floor and the rack boy ran over and racked them. I didn’t like it, had to wait sometimes but if you tried to rack your own they were offended

    44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

Good advice, if you’re worried about posting a vid here then find someone qualified to help in person or online

    44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

If you break from the opposite end to see if it makes a difference, do it only a couple of times, don’t want to leave tracks

    44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

If you bridge on the table when you break try bridging off the rail

    44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

If it’s not your stroke then make sure you don’t have a divot where your head ball sits

Yeah I know the slate I have a 9’ GC IV also but don’t have break problems

    44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

Try breaking with 9 on spot instead of 1 ball.

    44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

If a decent set of balls are on top of quality cloth all on a slate bed the balls will act the same no matter the table manufacturer until they hit the rails. Are your rails tight, rubber good? Do they seem to spread nicely but die off the cushions? Just for fun see if there’s a difference if...

    Slow play by pros

You can lose a hill-hill match with your opponent making a slop shot. Your opponent continues in the tournament and you’re out. I’m not going to go through every tournament to see who would have been eliminated if it weren’t for luck, it shouldn’t be part of any game of “skill”, horseshoes...

I’d be interested in the games but will leave the orange 5 ball to Fatboy! 😬

    Slow play by pros

Not a pro but played pros in tournaments. Can’t think of a specific tournament but know it happens in 9 ball. I watched Alex slop twice in one tournament on the Billiards TV. channel just a couple months back. He had a shot into the side on the 8 ball and needed to draw back for the 9. The 8...

    Slow play by pros

Happens more than you know, I’ve won tournaments due to a slop shot as have my opponents. I didn’t feel good about it but that’s 9 ball

    Slow play by pros

Yes they do, I’ve watched a lot of 9 ball tournaments, pro level, where there were even 2 slop shots by the same player in a game. He would wave to his opponent to apologize but it still counted

    Slow play by pros

I think the games should be 8 ball or 10 ball, I grew up on 9 ball but slop has changed the outcome of so many tournaments. Why be rewarded for a miss? There should be a 30 second shot clock with one extension per game
