Who gives instruction in or near SC?

I think I might try my hand at some lessons, but need some information on where to go. Anybody know of good teachers in or around the Upstate SC region? I'd like to take either a couple of hours or a full day, depending on how my schedule and their schedule correlate. Any advice/info would be...

What do you say to a bad rack?

This gets into pattern racking. If you break pretty consistently, you can often determine what's going to drop or what's going to go where after the break, depending on how the balls are racked.

What do you say to a bad rack?

I only brought this up because I got intentional bad racks in the last two money matches I played. I will normally pocket 2 balls off of the break, so in the first match he was putting the 2 down low and racking the bottom half loose. By the time I realized what he was doing, I was already up...

What do you say to a bad rack?

Do you say anything to an opponent who is obviously giving you bad racks? If they're positioning balls to where I might be at a disadvantage after the break, normally I don't say anything, I just play them how they roll. I don't think I've ever asked for a re-rack. If they're racking the...

    Jim Lee Cue Review

Good looking stick you've got there. It's a fairly plain design, but I think it's pretty classy at the same time.

    Who taught you???

I first learned how to play when I was very young, like around 6 or 8. My bestfriend at the time had gotten a miniature pool table for Christmas and I learned on it. We ended up moving to Hartsville not long after and I didn't play again until I was 15. I really learned my game from a guy...

    Tip Maintenance, which tool?

I have a Willard's dime shaper and tip pik already, what I was specifically looking at were tools made to trim the edges of the tip so that it's no longer a mushroom shape. I don't really need one now, but I'm still interested to see what you guys use.

    Tip Maintenance, which tool?

After a second look, it's not so much that it's mushrooming, it's really just flattening out and losing it's shape a bit. While it's my primary player, I also use it to break with. It's a fairly new tip, I've only been playing with the cue for a couple of weeks, so I guess this is just...

    Tip Maintenance, which tool?

I'm using a LePro tip at the moment, which I'm not really sure I care for, and it's starting to mushroom on me. There are more than a few tools that I could try out, Porper alone makes like 3 or 4, so I'm just wondering which is the easiest to use? I could also use some advice on the best way...

That is some ridiculous wood you've got there. Good luck with your sale, I'm surprised it's lasted even this long.

    Observations about Meucci Cues

Is this your friend with the broom? Click Here. If by "most people around town" you mean your other high school friends who come in to play pool after cutting class, then I could possibly see it happening and why you'd be amazed. Any player who can draw a ball should be able to beat someone...

    Observations about Meucci Cues

There's no need to get all hot and bothered over Meucci's reputation, especially considering they earned it all on their own. I've played with 3 different cues made by them, and while the balls didn't go in the opposite direction intended, I didn't enjoy playing with them either. From the...

Richard Black Bushka with Ivory butt plate

Wow, great looking cue and price. It's weird, this is the same diamond and dot configuration that's in my custom cue design.

    Case makers.

Jim Murnack's cases definitely look nice, but they're just as, if not slightly more, in price than Justis and JB. I'll give the other guys a ring and see what they have to say.
