Home table guys, how much do you practice a week?

Someone with my same mentality. Rather chase trout than a cue ball any day of the week. This time of year is when I start to return to the table. I'll play more in the next 6-7 weeks than usual. Then the salmon will show up and I won't get going on the table again until October. So, when the...

    Getting back to full speed....

I agree, table time. Maintain good mechanics. When playing ghost really understand why you missed. Look for patterns of missing. Create drills to work on those things. Good competition is invaluable. Wanting to beat someone who is constantly beating you, does wonders for focus. If you can't...

    Why change primary Playing cue???

Asked the same question months ago. Myself, unless my confidence in my current player fails or someone can demonstrate why X cue is better for my game, I'll stick w what I use. I have another cue I really like, I hardly touch it, it's like new.

bar table 8 ball, dealing with a bad break with clusters

Lol, if I had $ every time I watched a player do that. People run and paint themselves into a corner. They're left w just the cluster. No break out ball. What R U doing? So many times. I see it, I find a place in time(balls down, table position) where I can put one of my spare soldiers in...

Cue from the late 60's ID help??

Oh yeah, I knew what you were saying previous post. The wood on it reminded me of the D I owned. Looks like good work from what I can tell(see last post). I'd change the thread color if I had it. Ok, how much? :D

Cue from the late 60's ID help??

I had a Dufferin and that was my first instinct until I saw the B. Never saw that kind of work around the joint on a Dufferin. Of course, I know next to nothing about cues in general.

bar table 8 ball, dealing with a bad break with clusters

Some good advice on those loose balls. First thing to do is asses the clusters. How are you gonna break them out? Can you break them all out and run it? Are your opponents balls mixed in? Can your opponent w ball in hand break and run? If you can't break them all and run it, where can you find...

That's my vote. Haven't been to any, but that's the only one I'd want to see.

    Watches on the bridge hand

You wear your watch too tight. I have owned and worn a watch for a long time. When I got back into pool I had to make a decision on the watch. I felt it was too much of a distraction and ditched it for when playing pool.

Who The Hell Is Bucky Bell!!

That was a good read. I'll have to run up to the bar tomorrow night and see if Bucky is still going up there and playing in the tourney.

Who would you like to see play a one pocket challenge match

Why? Sorry, not a Deuel fan. Siegel and Strickland, but 10 years ago when Earl hadn't gone off the deep end and Mike was maybe more polished. Two talkers, someone is gonna crack.

Best way to roll forward just a bit on longer shots?

I slow roll a stop shot. Just a bit less stop and a bit less power.

y'all hit any new shots lately?

I came up with this shot about a year or so ago. Maybe you all know it already, I had never thought about doing it before and didn't know if it could be done. Necessity being the mother of invention. Looking back at it now it seams pretty simple and it is. OB fairly close to the rail. CB lined...

    $25,000 Brunswick table

Only about an hour from me. Maybe I should go check it out and hit a couple balls on it just so I can say I did. https://grandrapids.craigslist.org/spo/d/holland-antique-brunswick-pool-billiard/6897016637.html
