Cheap pool cue case.

How have I messed up the last two tips that have been on my cue?

I've shaped a few new tips with mine. The finer grit side seemed to become useless before I did any of those too. That's my only complaint about it.

It's interesting, people have no question about buying expensive customs. It's custom, the fit and finish should be unparralled and then they throw a production shaft on it. So, the quality of the butt isn't good enough for the money but the shaft is?

With that in mind Red, why not just get a hard tip of your choice? What is a "pressed" tip. Put in a vice and squished top to bottom? Your not talking burnishing the sides right? I use a Triangle or Elkmaster medium. Whichever my guy has at the time. I didn't see this before... my humble...

I would say that any wood that has been dried out to that degree, has lost all elasticity.

Any of you guys ever hit one of these. Thinking about buying a used cue and it comes with one of these "ld" shafts. I don't think the original owner cared for it much since there is little chalk stain in the shaft but the original shaft could probably shed an entire cube after cleaning. :)...

Personally, I'd tape it up and take it to the bank and never play the guy again. Everytime I saw him in there I would have a gloating smile on my face, knowing I beat him and he lost control of himself. Life is too short to deal with drama. Move on.
