Valley vs Diamond Bar Box 8-Ball

The biggest difference to me is that with a Valley, I can make it my b***h. Do whatever I want to it. With a Diamond on the other hand, there is a negotiation of sorts. Like the f**k or marry game... F**k: valley Marry: Diamond

** Straight Pools Popularity ** Look at Accu-Stats NOW **

Don't know if anyone answered this but I stayed up and watched the 14.1 and Dennis Orucllo won it easily. It was pretty remarkable to see him set the two big fake hecks for $30k on the rail and then turn around and play like that for $3K. A real BMF'er.

John Morra Didn't Have To Lose DCC 9b

Just an opinion below... Trying to not 'cheapen' 9ball is like trying to make a silk purse from a sow's ear. Historically it's always been a cheap game. It's like the Kim Kardashian of pocket billiards. Without the luck (or bad luck) factor of the game, we wouldn't have Efren's Z kick.

    Billy - it's Orcullo

Haha, you are probably right. I know it's not orcoolio though. :D Just a little morning fun with my coffee, this place is so GD serious. Life and death and namecalling. I guess it's just like a big pool room. :grin-square:

John Morra Didn't Have To Lose DCC 9b

Agreed with OP. Morra played real good. Anyone else not like the way he kicked at that ball after he got hooked hill-hill ? I realize he was trying to get behind the 8 by hitting he 3 a little thinner, but daymn. I think if I ever got in that spot I'm kicking at that ball alot harder and not...

    Billy - it's Orcullo

I love your commentary Billy, always entertaining. Some friendly advice: Dennis' last name is pronounced or-kulo. Every time you say or-coolio I think you are posing the question: Who is the better rapper ? Jay-Z or Coolio ?

Can someone help me understand the thought process behind these requests?

Been to the Rum Runner many times. I can count on one hand the top level pros I've seen there. It's really not an issue in this context.

Can someone help me understand the thought process behind these requests?

You make a good point, I would counter with: When pool gets to that level I will not begrudge them any of that. Reality is, it is not at that level and until it is, what better way to market yourself than to show up ?

Can someone help me understand the thought process behind these requests?

Cmon, the Rum runner conflict is a red herring to the original point. There are pros that would ask for airfare/lodging/appearance fess if this was the only tournament going that weekend. To answer the original question, greed, avarice and an over inflated sense of importance.

    Ismael Paez

Beat me to it. Smitty introduced me to Thai food in the early 80's. I'll never forget that dinner. After a particularly hot bite of some indescribable dish, I reached for the ice water. Smitty scolded me like the kid I was, "don't ruin your meal" is all he said as he handed me a glass with...
