Of the cues I have now, my favorite is 3/8 x 11 brass pin with wood/wood joint face. However, I have just ordered Chuck Starkey conversion with 1/2 x 8 wood pin. I am thinking that will be favorite of mine, but time will tell.

Chalk, Chalk, and More Chalk what is all the hype?

Another urban myth There was no lead in preflag master blue. Small traces of lead were only found in the old master green chalk. I think the lead came from the lead chromate in the yellow pigment used to make the green color.

Master blue. If you have to steal chalk, you are either too poor to play or a thief.

    rule question, any game

the point is that you must use your eyes and your brain to gauge a shot, not any other items like out of play balls, rulers, lasers, chalk, etc. you can use your cue, but nothing else. "judgement, not measurement"

    rule question, any game

I respect that as your opinion, but the rules say otherwise. If we were all allowed to use our opinons to interpret the rules, then everyone's rules would be different. My opinion is that you cannot intentionally place any object or mark the table in any way to help you align the shot and I...

    Shane SVB's playing cue

Don't know if it is true or not but I believe Allison says her Cuetec is right out of the box and anyone can buy one just like hers.

    Shane SVB's playing cue

No I don't have one and never have but I do believe that a talented player can play with about any cue and still be successful. Earl only started badmouthing Cuetec after they cut off his sponsorship. Typical Earl.

8-ball Rules Question: Safety On Open Table?

Correct. When you call a safety you are saying " I am not calling a ball and pocket." therefore if a ball is pocketed when it has not been called, it cannot determine groups. Table is still open in this case.
