I don't use either.. I keep shaft clean with barely damp towel. Wipe it down about every 20-30 mins. Also keep my hands clean. With properly prepared shaft this is all i ever need.

Agree. Ball is replaced as near as possible to postion in the jaw. I would say that if ball fell before the cue ball passed is not a foul and CB stays in position. If 8 fell after CB passed without touching, then is a foul, 8 is replaced in jaw and BIH to opponent.

I am thinning the 2 with a little left spin and kick the CB off the bottom long rail to make the 9.. I practice this type of kicks and have more confidence than trying a masse draw to the 9.

I play with Master gold chalk everywhere with no complaints from room owners/managers. They brush the table between customers anyway so what little chalk residue is there gets brushed away.
