    Vintage Valley parts needed

New replies! :) I haven't been to active as of late. I have been wrapped up in the holiday rush suddenly. I thought I should share this; here is a link to my post on here with a ton of photos of the table. In pretty rough shape I know. It was hard enough finding the table I was looking for at a...

    English Billiards questions

Been a while! It seems I spend more time at the table then the computer these days! I have been trying to learn English Billiards lately. There are some things I am not clear on. How is the opening shot/break done? I usually put the white on the right side of the "D", and red on the foot spot...

Restoring a vintage Valley coin table

Does anyone know how to replace the laminate on these tables? I know it's walnut finish, but what do I use for laminate? Where do I buy it? How do I remove the old laminate from the table? How do I apply the new laminate to the table?

Restoring a vintage Valley coin table

Funny. I actually just called ridgeback last week. They are about $30 more the standard replacement rails. Very worth it to me. I'll hold off on ordering new rails and cloth till I get some of the other issues fixed

Still. Can't figure out what's scratching up the pool balls... Also, I want to replace the laminate. Does anyone know how to remove and refinish with new laminate?

Custom billiards has some nice items like turned legs. Any good books or other good resources? Information on building or parts suppliers?

    Building pool tables

Wow! There's a lot of good information there! I want to do a nice looking, basic table. Start with standard pool tables and eventually move onto more special tables like Snooker, Carom, Russian, and maybe even Bagatelle and bar billiard tables as well as nice bumper pool tables like the sized...

    Building pool tables

I am thinking about building pool tables. What woods are used for slate tables? Legs, frame, top rails? I'm sure it has to be a pretty strong wood to hold up the slate.

    Where to buy Bagatelle boards?

Well if they have been made as recent as the 1990's, then there should be plenty of them floating around. My guess is the U.K. I don't see them as being too popular in the U.S. The pound to dollar is about 1.5 right now. I wonder what shipping would cost to send something like this to the U.S...

    Where to buy Bagatelle boards?

Does anyone know what these typically sell for? I would take one missing the balls and needing new cloth and some wood polish if this price was right. I'd like to know what know will cost me when the time comes. I also would like to find a Bar Billiards table. If I could find something that I...

    Where to buy Bagatelle boards?

I am looking for one of those folding English Bagatelle tables. Does anyone know where might be a good place to look? I see them once in a while in the U.K. Anyway, I would really like to have one eventually once things are better for me. If I can find a lead on this, it would be a big help when...

Restoring a vintage Valley coin table

Some bonus photos. Staple in the rails. Could be what's scratching up my Aramith sets. Maybe, maybe not. The ball trap area. (with the trap taken out) If anyone is wondering, here is the slate in the table with the rails off. Hopefully these will help anyone else with the...

Restoring a vintage Valley coin table

Restoring a vintage Valley coin table

I'll have to check into those rails. Is it something I should replace? I've heard that you shouldn't mess around with the tables rails as new rails may not fit as well as the original ones. As promised, more photos! Here's the original plywood piece that was in the coin mech housing. Some...

Restoring a vintage Valley coin table

Yeah, I was blinded by the table type rather then condition at the time. Being that it is the exact maker/model table I was after, I took it and figured I could restore it. Probably should have considered the work it would take before hand. Ah well. Sunday I pulled the slate out and started...

7th pocket / Witchball website down?

There's a video on youtube where I guy uses some kind of screw chuck for the lathe. I don't know if this would work for this project though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udj9euwBEVE

7th pocket / Witchball website down?

Here's a practice putting cup turned on a lathe that someone is selling online. I have a lathe, but I don't know how to turn flat objects like this. This design would work pretty well, but I don't know 7th pocket's measurements. Wood would look a lot more elegant on the table IMO.
