    Automatic Ball Scoring

I've thought about it a little bit. One of the problems is differentiating between legally and illegally pocketed balls. I suppose one could use the sound sensor abilities of the iPhone to count balls that are pocketed. See http://mybreakspeed.com/index-2.html

    Gold Crown Vs Diamond

See if you feel the same way when the humidity goes way up and you can't make a bank to save your life.

    Gold Crown Vs Diamond

The pool hall Diamonds that I have found and played on generally disappoint. I believe this is usually due to poor set up and/or the old short banking rails. An AZ'er buddy has a perfectly set up Professional, so I know how brilliantly the Diamonds can play. I've just never found one in a...

Would you buy an Olhausen pool table?

Hold out for the nicest GC you can find and then have Glen set it up. The RKC setup should play well for years. I really enjoy having the best playing table in my area. BTW, I have a buddy down in the Ridgway, Colorado area that has an Oly 8 footer and wishes he had gone the GC route...

Area aiming method - materials wanted

I'll agree with that: ghost-balling aiming with the arc as your target.

Area aiming method - materials wanted

Basically, the shooter visualizes the cue ball overlapping the object ball. Rather than picking a single point to focus on, you visualize the entire "C" shaped arc as defined by the outside edge of the CB where it overlaps the OB. This gives a nice, big target to aim at.

How'a the pool scene in Denver?

Rack 'em - kinda lame, imho. I've never found any action there. Seems mostly a Texas hold'em joint with some pool tables thrown in for the heck of it. A bit of a seedy location with poor parking at night. Went in there last week and asked if there were any bank pool players around. The...

How'a the pool scene in Denver?

I've never found anybody to play banks with in Denver. LOL ...seriously, you must be the only bank pool player on the front range! I have seen you play some, so I know I'll need some weight. Next time I go down to Denver, I'll give you a shout if you want to play a fair game (not the usual...

    Custom Billiard Lighting - Comments?

I am thinking of making some custom billiard table lights. I still have to do some more research on the viability of the process that allows me to do the customization. But at this point I'd simply like to get some feedback from you guys. Here is a design sketch for a Ferrari themed game room...

Didn't Hawaiian Brian play out of a pool hall on Ventura Blvd? I think it was in Sherman Oaks.

Need help naming a Pool Room

I love stained glass and have quite a few personal pieces that I can enjoy from my table at home. Stained glass itself can be a whole design theme. But you need to get the good stuff. PM me if you need help...I know someone who had an entire restaurant with lots of stained glass that he...

Need help naming a Pool Room

Long ago there was bar in Madison, WI called "The Church Key". In case you're not old enough to appreciate the double entendre, a "church key" was slang for a bottle opener, usually kept on one's keychain. How about "City Limits Billiards'.

Thanks for the guess. A couple of guys have responded (still no answers) from the high powered rocket club. If it is rocket related it's certainly out of the hobby class.

Who's the best TV pool commentator

It has to be Danny DiLiberto with Mark Wilson. Danny is the only guy we quote as we play bank pool... "I think he can stiffen this one." "That's in the pocket...Oh no! I guess it was a bit short." "He sold out." "When we have players of this caliber, they're supposed to make those." "I...
