Empire Billiards in Glens Falls, NY

A good pool buddy of mine grew up playing in this room. He says it was a class joint. Does anyone have any pictures or interesting stories about this room? Thanks!

Anyone have a stick they really wanted to like but couldn't?

Bought this cue last Christmas. Tried replacing the tip once but that didn't do it. I will try one more even softer tip before I give up on this stick. http://www.theadamcueco.com/rchcues5.cfm

The Banks are now open. Bank & kick with confidence & avoid ball-in-hand

IMHO, I wouldn't try to use the BSC during a game. The setup needs to be too exact for any realtime use. Where you could probably use it would be for calc'ing your lag hits. Either the individual player or a bar team member could start setting up the anticipated lag shot while the opponent was...

The Banks are now open. Bank & kick with confidence & avoid ball-in-hand

Hi Clyde, At this point I've probably spent 3 hours on my BSC. I think you are off to a great start. I'll be looking forward to hearing that BSC has overtaken Angry Birds in the App Store! The BSC really got my attention when I plotted out a 1 railer in the side and made my first attempt...

    Pool has a "FATAL FLAW"

I don't agree with the FF theory. Soupy Logic Think of the distribution of pool players as being represented by a soup ladle type curve. At the top of the ladle's handle we have the bar leaguers (arguably the healthiest sector of our sport). Following the handle down... down... down...

The Banks are now open. Bank & kick with confidence & avoid ball-in-hand

True most of the time. Not true in the case of the purely stroked bank (see Freddy the Beard's video on how to adjust for the 4-2 cross corner shot playing 1/4 diamond short). However, I am quick to agree with what I think is your main point: There are many variables that need to be...

The Banks are now open. Bank & kick with confidence & avoid ball-in-hand

First I downloaded the BSC lite but it seemed limited to 1 rail banks (what I really wanted were the 2 and 3 railers, so I downloaded the pay version at $5.99...but still no 2 and 3 rail banks. Am I missing something or does your program not do any 2 or 3 rail banks? I see that you do the 2...

Bank Pool - Softer banks? Efren spots you x?

_(2)_Questions about bank pool... 1) Do you shoot most of your banks with a hard classical bank pool stroke or have you been trending towards softer bank shot play? If so, why? (my answer is below) 2) How many balls would a top player, say Efren, have to spot you in short rack banks for you...

Btw, Thank you, Patrick, for doing the cuetables. I forgot my password and got locked out for 15 mins.

Bank Pool - Which of these 3 shots are legal?

Bottom line for me is that the BCA rulebook is too vague for me to base any answer on any of the 3 questions. However, if I were playing a friendly game, I would be inclined to "give" the opponent #1. Not allow #2 and allow #3. I think #3 is the clearest to say yes to. My reasoning is that if...

Bank Pool - Which of these 3 shots are legal?

Bank Pool - Which of these 3 shots are legal? #1 -- Your called bank shot is back in the corner. You hit the ball way long and the object ball rebounds off the end rail and then strikes the cushion point on the side pocket, sending it down the rail into the corner pocket. Is this a clean...

New ball cleaner is the best I've found...

I'll bring some by the next time I pass through. I put just a small drop on each ball and they came out really nice. The 8 was a deep dark black the likes of which I haven't seen since these balls were new.

Steve Klapp Cues: 2 new players & a Palmer restoration

I got a chance to try out the butterfly last night and it played excellent! Soft hitting yet accurate. Nice feel to the hit. Cue plays like a combination possessing the best of old and new school cues. Steve mentioned (I believe that I got this right...) that his tapers are very close to...
