cue ball clos to object ball

Two things...make sure you're high enough to see the contact point on the OB...the closeness will lie to you when you get down behind the CB every time, so stay up through the whole shot. Don't cheat yourself with a jabbing, short stroke. Unless they're within a chalk cube's distance apart...

    Dreaming about Pool

I'm one of the weird few that dream about pool quite frequently...most common is my pool cue comes up missing/stolen, or is broken in some freak accident. Some dreams about gambling, once I dreamed I spent $1000 to enter the U.S. Open, showed up and missed the draw going on right next to my...

    Straight shots

This is an awesome tip! :)

    Straight shots

Could be alignment/foot placement, too. You can check that by placing the tip at bottom of CB holding it with your stroking hand, standing over the shot. keep the tip there, rotate your stick until it's on line, pointing directly at the bottom of the OB. Observe the reflection of your tip on...

What is the "gripiest" tip made?

I've had one bad tip in eight so far...it just mushroomed like a marshmallow, was a dud...but every other one made by PoolDawg hits better than a Kamui Black Soft, and grips 10 times better. They tend to hit firmer than medium, yet grip like a super soft. Think hard outside, chewy...

What is the "gripiest" tip made?

Bingo. $3 a pop, I keep a supply in my case just in case...although they hold up very well and IMHO grip with the best of them.

    OB Digicue video

Is the software Mac compatible? Is there an android and/or iPhone app for it? Just wondering how it gives you feedback; is it just the vibration, or is there more data available on exactly what is making it vibrate? Looks like a game changer.

What is the "gripiest" tip made?

After 30 years, I've tried just about everything made, with layers or single layer. Nothing beats a well made milk dud, it does exactly what you're looking for and is dirt cheap. There. I said it.

IS this a Joss Brunswick cue?? What's it's value

Ok, I guess I need to search first...:sorry: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=185748 It was 1995, for the record, thought it was earlier. Anywhoooo, still think it was beautiful in it's simple glory. OP's cue is nice, too! I think that line was made to line up with Gold...

IS this a Joss Brunswick cue?? What's it's value

Anyone remember the limited edition Brunswick Anniversary cue Joss made back the in '80s? Made to look a little like a Titlist conversion or Rambow type cue, SS joint, Hoppe ring (maybe a silver ring), came in a blue velvet case. Never saw one around, thought I would have at some...

    Here's a scenario ; Unsportsmanlike or not?

Played a guy like that once or twice in tournaments...one guy would take all the chalk off the table except the one piece he carried, another one insisted all cubes had to be laid on their side...I like it chalk side up (that way I know what/how I'm grabbing it without looking), but I'm not...

    Mid Extension Wood Choice

I have a 4 inch ebony extension from him...I'm not sure exactly how heavy it is, but I'd estimate it's in the 3+ ounce range. That definitely puts on a forward balance, but I like it, too. The hit is beautiful and melodic. Been using it for about 8 months now, will never go back. He made it...

    That damned Bob Jewett

Is Easy Street Billiards the room they used to call Bow Tie Billiards? I use to play there all the time back in the mid '90s...Tony Anigoni used to hang out there and occasional monsters from San Francisco shot there...It was a nice room.

    JPNEWT=Karens ATM

I play on the Action Pool Tour with Brandon Shuff, Shawn Wilkie and numerous meat eaters...I donate plenty for the privilege and don't mind it at all. Karen played on that tour for a couple of years, and did well, although she rarely went deep in the money. Bottom line, it's a great way to...

From No 1 Hole Tournaments to weekly

What's the proposed format? Race to three double elimination? My nose is starting to itch... It's a bit of a haul for me, but I might point my pony north...

From No 1 Hole Tournaments to weekly

That's the payout format they were using for the weekly Sunday 9 ball tournament at Fairfax Revolutions (Fast Freddie's)...I really liked that event, but had been skipping for a while...was disappointed last Sunday when I went in and found that Summer had killed it for now. :(

Question: tournament play for money or competition

Competition/experience. In the regional tour I play in, I'm only donating to the winner; I count my entry fee as a paid lesson. :o As far as local room/bar tournaments go, I play to win, regardless of the amount; I get far more satisfaction by winning itself, over any money I might pick up.
