    Cue Makers Louisiana

Yes...I bought it in 1991 and still have it. Very nice cue, he made a Gus Szambotti tribute, sold it to a soldier who sold it to me. I played with it for over 10 years, set all my personal bests with it, then retired it when I got my Schon.

New pool movie or maybe movie with pool in it

I've said it before...and I'll keep on saying it. Ralph Greenleaf biopic would win all the Oscars. It has everything, roaring 20s, his wife is a Ziegfield folly, he's making $2,000 a week just doing exhibitions, he's the top of the game for almost two decades, as well known as Babe Ruth, and...

    Cuetec Cynergy tink sound

I have two cynergy shafts...both have pads under the tips, mainly because I've used pads under my tips for 30 years. I occasionally get a "tink" on certain shots, but that's rare and not repeated with the same stroke. I'd say it's likely due to sound resonating in the hollow chamber in the last...

Mosconi Cup 2021 Day 3 Updates

Seemed to me that JJ was using a lot of one pocket knowledge to drag some of these racks out until he got an advantage...he's played one pocket about as long as most of the Euro players have been alive...very crafty! ;)

Mosconi Cup 2021 Day 3 Updates

While I agree with this, the referee wasn't stopping the clock to admonish the fans like previous Cups, especially as he let them hoot and holler when the U.S. players were down on the shot. That's been going on the whole time. Quiet as a church when the Euro players are down on the shot...

I played 23 games of pool.

My brother and I had just finished watching "The Hustler"; we decided to try and play straight pool for 24 hours straight, went to a 24 hour pool hall in Houston (Cornbreads)...we got to 18 hours without a break, had moved to 8 ball at some point during the night, and quit...I was 23 years old...

    Cloth color

The balls stand out better on tournament blue, less eye strain, too. Green hides stains better.

Good Guys Don't Always Wear White: SVB's Ghost Edition by Cuetec

The add said he's now playing with the 11.8...interesting, the taper is only 9.6 inches, as opposed to the 12.5, which is 15.5 inches. I have two of the 12.5 mm shafts, haven't seen or tried the 11.8. I have an old Medlin cue with 11.5 mm shafts that played so good...you only had to imagine...

Good Guys Don't Always Wear White: SVB's Ghost Edition by Cuetec

I like it. Would be cool if it came in a South Dakota version, with a Ghost-finished DUO extension...I also wish they'd come out with a Cynergy jump-break, instead of having just the Propel and Breach cues separately. I've seen a TON of the pearl white South Dakota GEN I's out there in the...

    Earl's new cue

Earl told me at a tournament in MD two years ago that he wasn't working with Mike anymore, but he was still shooting with his cues...he really liked them (I have one, too, it's pretty damn good). He liked the G10 pin on mine and wanted to try one. Who knows? I'll be curious to see, it's...

What cue would you buy (piloted stainless joint)?

I've got several...a Gary Medlin GEM (lake Charles) Szam-clone, Joss J-11, Schon STL17 and an -R- full splice. The Joss was about $450 back in '88; the GEM was $1100, the Schon $1400 and the -R- $2000. I love them all, but the one I must have if the rent money is on the light is the...

    SVB vs Chang Update Thread

That's the whole point. Just like the infamous Efren comeback against Earl in the Color of Money match in Hong Kong. Earl had it in the bag, then faded just as Efren hit a gear and came back from like 20 down to edge him out. High drama, awesome show. Fatigue is a huge factor, and part of...

Question on Newly Acquired Adam Cue

Used to see these around in the mid 1980s...decent production cue, similar to Vikings and Helmstetters (Adam-made) of the time. Not sure if they were Japan-Adam or China-Adam, though. Classic Old School look!

    Carbon Fiber Shaft Poll

I've got two Cynergy shafts (in case I throw a tip, I love them that much!)...I've found that the Sniper tip is fine once it breaks in and hardens a little, but my current favorite is Technodud, with Pooldawg's duds a close second (almost equal). Technoduds last a little longer and the...
