I have been playing with a medium Tiger Everest 10 layer laminated tip for a number of years now. The description of this tip says " This cue tip shapes like a hard tip, hits like a medium and has a control like a soft tip." The tip plays so well that I am not even tempted to try anything else...

I agree with pt109 and HomeBrewer, thin off the left side of the yellow. Simpler solutions are usually more likely to score and there is no possibility for a kiss.

Good point Bill, these 2 links demonstrate how many ways there might be to score a point with any given position. I'll wager that you would agree that one of the finer points of this game is the ability to choose the best or right shot to play. I feel that is one of the skills that separate good...

I agree Maldito, especially when the 2nd ball is so close to the rail. Obviously, hitting the cue ball softly is critical to making this shot.

Remarkable number of options on how to score from this position. I wonder how many takes it took to make each shot.

FWIW, Bert van Manen was kind enough to answer my question for anyone else that might be interested. Bert replied: "40 seconds, three time-outs in a 40 pt match". Thanks as always Bert :thumbup:

Am I correct that the UMB World Cup match shot clock is 45 seconds with 2 time outs per player per match?
