Needing some thoughts on what size table to buy.

My thoughts exactly when it comes to the debate of wether or not 'over' shimming can be good or bad for you. Accurately well hit balls should always go in regardless of the tighness of the pockets. When you mess with that, you mess with your mental game in a bad way. dave

Opinions please on Judd Fuller cues

I used to own a Judd that I had made to order and I loved it. Lost it in a divorce!! Mine had the brass insert pin, and I like the big pins he makes better. Although Judd will make you a totally custom cue with your own ideas for a design, the majority of Judds you see out there are a version...

Needing some thoughts on what size table to buy.

I am one of those guys that until recently had little respect for bar tables. However, because of the lack of tournaments on 9 footers in my area, I've been forced to play in bar table tournaments, and as a result have developed a new respect for bar tables and the players that play them well...

    Danny Medina. Champion -for-hire

Skinner bets, but he ain't reckless. From what I saw the other day, there isn't anybody in Colorado that wants any of Medina right now. Danny isn't world class right now, but he can go deep into a large tournament and suprise many. dave

Do you know which eye is dominant? READ!!!

I had similar issues when I first started playing pool. My issue was that after a few tests, we found that I didn't have a dominant eye. In other words, neither my right or left eye favored. However, it's still a fact that at any given time, yor're always favoring one or the other eye. We...

    Danny Medina is back!

First of all, I'd like to wish everybody a Happy Thanksgiving. As the title says, Danny is back and hitting them well. I'm in no way affiliated with Danny, and I'm not here to blow any of his action. I'm just happy that I got to see what I saw last night at Hanks Billiards last night. Danny...

    Lost Cue/Antiques/Colorado Springs

Bill I mourn for your loss. I remember that cue when we played at the Denver 10 Ball open at Billiard Ink. It was one of those cues that was worth striking up a conversation about. Let's just hope the people that got it are foolish enough to try to sell it somewhere that it could be found. dave

Can A- players and above do the following test?

Let's put it this way. Although the ability to do what you describe is a desired and somewhat difficult skill, it's importance is a matter of subjectivity. I know many C players that can do it, and many A players that have forgotton how to do it. dave

I hope this isn't true Mosconi Cup

I'm against CW being the captain also, but not based on his Asian background. CW is a US citizen that plays the Korea card simply because he is proud of who he is..............................................another AMERICAN that has roots from somewhere outside of the US. (Believe it or not...

    Tips and tricks #1 Combinations.....

Maybe it's just the way that I see them, so I admit I could be wrong, but I seem to have read somewhere...............and when I've had success, I aim to cut the 2nd ball thinner than usual because I feel as if for some reason in combos there seems to be more cling/throw issues than a normal...

    Lose on purpose

You sound like one of those 99% people out there protesting wall street these days simply because they're the 'have nots' looking up at the 'have everythings.' We've created this notion that everybody that 'has everything' for some reason needs to be villified because theyv'e obviously achieved...

    An amazing match finish

Lay of the nap. I could be wrong, but I flirted a little with snooker while I was in Japan, and I seem to remember the nap actually had a 'lay' like a golf green which meant (I think) shooting down table away from the break area and crossing the center of the table, the CB would actually take a...

Do the pros do stupid sh*t like us amateurs do???

I'm not a pro, but 3 of my most embarrasing moments in pool have happened in pro/am events and against pro opponents. 1) Farted while breaking the oppening rack against a Japanese ladies pro. She obviously heard, but kindly pretended that she didn't. I went on to win the match. 2) Ball in...

    Wecome Back Danny Medina

Don't know how long or what the conditions of his parole/probation is, but the last I knew he still wasn't allowed to be anywhere that alchohol is sold, so he's been hittin' em at a senior center and working really hard on his game from what I've heard. Look forward to seeing him play well. I...
