Any AZers hang out at JOB Billiards in Nashville? I'll be in the area for about two weeks. dave

    Hand shaking peckers

Any idea how much crap can be found on billiard balls, rails, house cues, bar counters, and on and on....................................and you think a handshake is dirty? Can handle shaking hands with a guy that might have 'leaked' on his finger and didn't wash? Or somebody that might have...

Another aiming system (this one deals with the sound of the balls)

This has got to be the craziest crap I've ever heard. Sounds? Yes, let's say for arguments sake that different degrees of cut will result in a different sound, or a different pitch. And I'm a firm believer in the human bodys ability to learn over repetition............to recognize the...

Pool Is Back To A Rich Man's/Women's Game

I'd have to disagree. Most every really good shortstop or above local caliber player I've ever known couldn't come up with $50 to put in his gas tank, but could always find a way to raise 2K in 30 minutes to match up with somebody. Most of the good players I've been exposed to didn't have a...

    the draw player?

In this debate, I think it's very important to remind ourselves that a 'draw' shot or cueing low on the CB doesn't always mean making the CB go backwards. dave

    Pool Related Pet Peeves...

Cell phones piss me off more than anything. In the middle of a match, either take a time out and walk away to answer your phone, or turn the damn thing off. Total lack of respect for the game, the situation, and the player. Also, when I played in Japan there were always many pros from all...

    Pool Rooms in Golden/Arvada, CO?

Hit me up when and if you go to Charlies. That's pretty much where I call home simply by default of location. I'll agree with most however, that Table Steaks of late is the place to be. dave

    Pool Rooms in Golden/Arvada, CO?

I'm really only aware of a couple of places with 9 footers here in the Denver area. I frequent Table Steakes (soon to be Billiard Ink), and Charlies. Table Steaks seems more accessable based on where you'll be staying. It's down south on Broadway and Floyd I believe, but you may want to look...

Do Heavy Weight Butts Help Your Stroke?

I think that a heavier cue can in some ways assist with helping or even making you stroke smoothly. Now, wether not that kind of weight will help you concerning CB action is another debate. I wouldn't suggest it's benefits to be used for anything other than a temporary training tool. Ever pick...

Had this happen the other night...

I wouldn't go as far as saying that you have no class. However, if your playing a 'friendly' gentlemans game and you knowingly let your opponent line up and shoot at the wrong set of balls, the I'll go as far as to say you weren't playing like a gentleman. In short race weekly tournaments...

Do you have a cue by a Japanese Cue maker ?

Ishigaki no longer makes cues these days, but if you pester him, you can get him to do some light repair work. Lived right down the street from him. dave

Which pros are using wrapless cues?

Don't know about his Jacoby, but when Cory Duel was using a Viking, I believe it was wrapless. dave

    Push

The one time in 9-ball where the one at the table being forced to take a shot is actually at a disadvantage: This would be the guy coming into the table after the break, be it the breaker haven legally pocketed a ball, or the other guy coming in after the breaker came up dry. So somebody is...

    FS: Fancy Musashi

Good luck with the sale. I remember when Musashi/Adam first came out with the bamboo spliced shafts. They were first making them for a Chinese lady pro that hung out at one of the places I played at. Although she wasn't sponsored by Adam or Musashi, somebody inside the company was taking her...

Question about Dudley tips / Milk Duds

I'm not here to try to sell you on Jeffs (or anybody elses) milk dud tips. I will say however, that even with the so called 1,000% markup, you're still getting a tip that is at least $10 less than many of the other tips out there that come close in quality. A good deal is a good deal. dave
