    Thank You, Vivian Marran!

Vivian Marran is a new website that allows folks hosting pool tournaments to list them, and members to search for tourneys in their area. They posted here on AZB that they were giving away a free stream pass for the entire Derby to one lucky person who signed up with their site...

    How fast does it spin?

Interesting. So, it's kind of like a drill bit, where a larger diameter bit meets a lot more resistance at the interface with the material it's boring into?

GIVING AWAY 1 DCC Accu-Stats PPV Package - Whole 9 Days

This is the coolest thing! I stumbled across this thread and joined VM on impulse. I'm not usually much of a joiner. I thought it pretty amazing that my second e-mail from them was to tell me I won this fantastic package. It wasn't the $1.3 billion Powerball, so I won't be saving pool or...

    How fast does it spin?

Thanks, Jim. That's exactly what I was looking for. On the spin wearing off as the CB travels, I always hear about this, but I don't see a huge difference when I actually shoot. I can put a ton of side spin on the ball as I send it down to the opposite short rail, and the spin still seems to...

    The Greatest Greatest

I read that there was a restart, and while he was tuning around to address the starting line they prematurely dropped the starting ribbon. So, he was facing backward when the race began and still almost won! That was the beginning of Saratoga Race Track's reputation as "The Graveyard of...

    How fast does it spin?

Lol! I can hardly wait.

    How fast does it spin?

I'm also interested is how much sidespin wears off as the ball rolls on the table surface. Again, I realize that the cloth type, condition, tightness, as well as the ambient temperature and humidity, will all factor into this. Just looking for how to calculate a baseline number. For...

    How fast does it spin?

Actually, it's for academic reasons that have to do with tip-ball, ball-ball, and ball-rail frictional contributions, not to help me with position play. The threads on swooping got me thinking about the role friction plays in all aspects of the game. Just some mental noodling around is all I'm...

    How fast does it spin?

OK, I'm not interested in debating the various methods of actually spinning the ball (real or imagined), I'm just curious to hear about what others understand about the spin/speed ratio. As in, "How many RPMs are possible?", and "How slow can you move the ball while simultaneously putting the...

    The Greatest Greatest

I would give the edge to Man o' War for a lot of reasons, but Secretariat will always be the greatest in my heart. Buddy Rich may have been the most technically proficient drummer to ever live, but Tony Williams was by far the greatest drummer ever IMHO.

Ban John French from the commentary booth-PETITION

Joey, you are always a class, class act in my book. I agree that these kangaroo courts that pop up on AZB are the wrong way to go. I've seen it with cue makers, product developers, promoters,TDs, pro players, live streamers, commentators, etc. We are all grown men, and we should act...

Distance of V to Fixed CCB

I think Colin is more concerned with pivoting to avoid squirt than he is with pivot-based aiming methods.

    Where and What Table? SVB/DO

The poster says Diamond Pro-cut, so I guess it's 4 1/2" pockets. Should go a bit quicker than this last snail race.

Dennis vs Ko, race to 100, 20K.

My thoughts exactly. And I was a lot more excited about that one than I am about this one.

Why is streamed pool commentary so poor?

Good interview. BTW my wife thinks you are the best. I think she may have a crush on you. ;)

Couple Of Changes To My Game

I've noticed a lot of world class players who use very long bridges but only pull back part of the way for most shots. This would seem to offer some of the advantages of using a long bridge without having to alter stroke force from shot to shot to control speed. Same force directed at the cue...

    Molinari Glove

Those guys were at Turning Stone. I never put a glove on in my life, but I tried one on and loved the way the shaft felt in my hand. Very snug, but the cue slid through nicely. The problem was that the wrist was too tight for me. I have severe carpal tunnel, and after just a few minutes my...

The Use Of Pivoting When Aiming.

What's funny is that this post resonates only to folks who have actually worked on the system. Three weeks ago, I would have thought you were full of shit. Now I get it. Thank God, I finally get it. :)

    Straight into rail, then adjust

Sounds like CJ Wiley's method to me. Align CTC, then use TOI to create the angle. He does this on almost every shot except for wide cuts, where he aligns CTE and then uses TOI to create the angle. Makes no sense at all, but it works for me.

    Light reflection aiming

I guess it would be too much to ask you to clue us in on the particulars of the method?
