Sounds like CJ Wiley's method to me. Align CTC, then use TOI to create the angle. He does this on almost every shot except for wide cuts, where he aligns CTE and then uses TOI to create the angle. Makes no sense at all, but it works for me.

I guess it would be too much to ask you to clue us in on the particulars of the method? :smile:
