Guess who just won thier first bar box 9ball tournament???

Yep, you just inserted the needle, bud. Soon you will be hooked on tournament play and all it required was 1 win in a small tournament. It is an easily acquired addiction and, far as I know, no known cure. I, too, am an addict! LOL

    Closest thing to moori original?

Cause you can't brag to your buddies about that expensive tip that has made your game 2 balls better! They are the NUTS. Personally I still like older LePro's but I am an old fashioned kinda guy.

    Closest thing to moori original?

What about Dennis Searing's Precision tips? I contacted him recently, he is expecting new stock by Friday and all I have heard about them is good.

    Names from the past

In Texas you had Bill Stroud, Squirrel,UJ, James Davis, Sr., Gilbert Martinez, jr., David Henson, Javier Franko, Flyboy, and a host of others that currently are missing from my memory. Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio were great cities to find action from the 70's through the 90's.

    Names from the past

I remember him. He played some tournaments at our pool hall in Alvin, Texas. He was very talented but went to prison for following women to their home, beating them up, and taking their jewelry and money. Brutal pics and coverage by Houston TV stations before and after his apprehension. Craziest...

    Shaftwood--How much is unusable?

sugar marks are the bane of cue makers. Customers do not like them but many times they play perfectly fine and can be slightly heavier. I only state this from personal experience and it may not hold true for all cue makers.

    linen wrap question ...?

What the last poster said. There are a number of ways including epoxy, veneer, glued string, etc. Read the thread and pick your poison. I personally like the veneer method, myself but epoxy is very popular.

I want to bet on some old timers

I don't think anyone feels like you are "representing" any player. You, like many of us, would appreciate seeing this type match. You seem very capable of making matches as per your descriptions on AZ of matches in the past. That is why I suggested that you be open to setting up such action...

I want to bet on some old timers

I am glad to hear Bill is responding to treatment. I never saw him play pool but I have great respect for your and Jackpot's word regarding his ability. Bill's cues were truly great in design and playability. Since he is recovering, I hope you can contact Nick and broker a match with one of...

Why isn't spalted maple used more in cues?

Spalted woods can be used in forearms, handles or butts if it is properly stabilized and cored. The core will determine the strength of the cue and the hit. And no, I am not ignoring the part the shaft plays just stating that the cored butt also has value for hit.

    Do Points Add Strength?

Think of the points as splines of a different(usually) wood that add backbone or strength to the butt.
