    Customer wants ivory ferrule

I am sure you realize that you can only get that ivory(legally) in your home state. The potential fine for an out of state deal should scare the hell out of you and all the rest of us. And we can all thank Mr. Obama for this mess.

What Happens to Your Stroke at a Certain Age?

The legs and knees are the most troublesome items for long sessions. Your eyesight diminishes some and requires better concentration on all shots. I had a stroke(medical type) some years ago and now, at different times and with no warning, I get a shake in my cue stroke. Stays a little while...

    Opinions wanted on clear finishes.

Thank you for the reply. I have never applied oil pre-CA. With automotive finish, oil is a no, no. I will give your treatment a try.

    Opinions wanted on clear finishes.

Do you have a suggestion for an oil that could be applied and how you prepare the cue for the oil application? This is something I hav not previously heard discussed in regards to CA finishes.

    Texas Ebony

No ebony in the Hill Country that I know about. Plenty of mesquite and cedar. Another wood on the Coast you might like is huisache. See lots of it round Rosenberg, Damon, Needville even towards Columbus. Nice red color for heartwood.

    Texas Ebony

I have used Texas Ebony in several cues. It is a great wood for cues, not only for looks but also for good playing qualities. The pieces I had were a nice warm chocolate color. I love it. I have one piece left and am considering making a cue for myself. If you want to call me selfish, go ahead!

    Remember When

Pool in the front part of the place and domino tables in the back potion While you were playing pool there was the constant slam of dominoes on the slate tables and the loud profanities of the domino players. Pool games were 10 cents a rack and there was a rack man. No jukebox till the 60's...

    Need advise

I believe having the wrap cleaned by John is the best way for you to go. That keeps the cue totally original and the cleaning done by the maker of the cue. If John cannot or will not clean the wrap, then a well know cuemaker like Black, Searing, or Tascarella. If the cue has not sold in 2...

Seems to stick to Texas tournaments for the most part. Would not be surprised to see him listed in Louisiana tournaments, though.

    Putting my cues away

I have had the procedure on both eyes. You should be very pleased with the results. My only advice is twofold: 1. Research the drs. in your area doing cataract surgery. Some have better reps with their former patients. 2. Follow the post operative instructions regarding the eye drops and...

A heads up about a player that refused to pay......johnny nguyen

If you don't post, don't complain. You set up the opportunity for your opponent to hose you. I have also used Jay's strategy when playing by the game instead of sets. I personally do not know any gambler who has not been air barreled.

Preserve the provenance. Send it back to Bill(after you call him) and ask for a letter to accompany the refinish.
