Can someone knowledgable about the APA answer a question for me

Your captain is responsible for the money. Contact your LO and let them know what happened. I'm sure they won't suspend you from the league or anything just cuz your captains a d-bag...

    Chalk?

:bow-down: Magic Chalk :love2: I've tried a lot of them but Magic holds on the tip really well and doesn't dust up everything. I remember leaving an unfortunate piece of masters in my bag and ended up with immediate smurf hands! Had to wash my towel it was so dusty. I hate smurf hands...

    Bar Box to 9 footer

You may have to adjust your setup, mainly bridge length and grip location, to account for all that extra green and the associated shapes you will have to play. I personnally have a different set-up for a barbox and 9fter. A more compact stroke for the barbox helps me control ball speed better...

    Is it possible?

It looks like if there is seperation between the 3 and 7, and the 3 is off the rail and out of pocket a little (as diagrammed), you could get a good hit by either kicking at side rail or end rail. Side rail: Bottom with either left or right english depending on how big your window is or what...

    APA first place payout=JOKE

The APA/BCA/UPB is a CORPORATION. That means they operate off of PROFIT. LO are nothing more than franchises of the larger corporation and therefore need to make profit to continue. Any more questions on the basic model of capitalism and or business operation??? What actual "work" do us APA...

What Made You Decide To Play Tournaments?

In order, 2 - because they are all insane :D 1 - because they are all better than me :banghead: IMO, its always good to go and test the waters against people you dont regularly play. It brings something fresh to the table. The bonus fluff of cash on the line doesn't hurt either!

The inevitable result of "excessive skill" in a handicapped league

The APA's only purpose is GROWTH... They have an excellent business model for attracting new "customers"... They are not idiots. The reason for their success is they know the system is flawed from a pool standpoint, but it excels in marekting to the non-serious pool demographic (new customers...

The inevitable result of "excessive skill" in a handicapped league

I don't like playing strong 5's either but at least I have the cushion of 2 mistakes... :D It allows for an entirely different approach to the table. If/when you win one game, I have the luxury of still being a little bit more aggressive with my shot selection without having to worry about not...

    Tip Questions

It may seem weird, but I always use a Moori Medium with the first couple layers cut off with a razor blade. It gives me the low maintenance and feel of a slightly harder tip, but the chalk retention of a med to med soft tip. Then again, also enjoy the smell of dry erase markers & gasoline...

The inevitable result of "excessive skill" in a handicapped league

While I agree that shotmaking skill is similar between 6's and 7's, IMO the biggest difference is pattern play/shot selection and defensive play. In situations where a 6 would go for the runout and break up clusters, the 7 may see a 4 ball run followed by a safety. The large majority of 7s...

The inevitable result of "excessive skill" in a handicapped league

I'd rather stick with shooting 6s or 7s personally... Some of the 4's in my area can shoot sporty enough to make me think twice about a 5 -2 race, at least with APA rules... Its enough to drive a man to the drink I tell ya!
