Pool stories you are sick of hearing.

LOL... :rotflmao: thats just way too funny The one I hate is "Just wait till he stops drinking for a few day in a row..." Its not that funny, a little bit sad, but still annoying...

I broke in the 9-ball (and felt horrible).

I wouldnt worry too much about it... Sometimes weird stuff just happens! The only thing like that that happened to me was in an APA league match. I was up 4 - 0, my 5 games to his 4. I broke and ran to my set ball for the 8 and dogged it. My opponent proceeded to run that rack out and then...

    Your Favorite Chalk

I used to use older master and like that... I tried the Magic Chalk from Russia and thats all I use now. It produces a lot less residual "dust" from getting all over the place, and IMO, sticks to the tip a lot better. I have used about 1/2 a cube in 4 months so its lasting me at least twice...

Do you need to play down to other's level so they will play with you?

Good stuff... LOL :killingme: :killingme: I used to play left-handed, after about 6 months or so, I got pretty good lefty, to where I could run out from time to time. That pissed my brother off so I just switched over to shooting righthanded, and minimum 2 rail bank/3 rail kicks at the...

    Tip thickness

Yeah, I just started to about a year ago when I switched back to Moori's.... I normally request that a little over 1/16" gets shaved off because it just feels to spongy for my personal liking...

Buying a new cue - recommendations?

I would recommend looking at either a used Schon or a Andy Gilbert J/B... Gilberts will hold their value, shoot great, and as Ken mentioned, are versatile enough to become an outstanding break cue next time you want to upgrade. Schons are IMHO, the best production cue money can buy. Great...

    Alternatives to PayPal

Due to the Raffle Act, conducting such a business in the USA is illegal unless it is affiliated with a non-profit. I believe your non-profit has to have been established for 4 years before it can run raffles/drawings. Paysimple is a good alternative to PP, BTW...

    Break Cue Recommendations

Having owned a BK2, the Mezz PowerBreak, and a Tiger Icebreaker, I would recommend an Andy Gilbert J/B... Best break cue I have ever used in my life and jumps great as a bonus If its just off the list you have there then definately the Mezz...

Can you use a jump cue in the APA?

That is incorrect. The rule specifically states that any cues specifically designed for jump shots may not be used in competition. ===> NO

    9 ball push rule question

Set was 9-ball, race to a minimum of 25 games won, win by 5, for 500... Theoretically it could have been 37 to 32, I believe thats the point of an ahead set. I apologize for not being clear enough with my response... Joe

    Using OB-1 shaft to break

Absolutely!!! As long as your not bending the shaft on the table during your follow through you can break with it till the end of time... It probably will affect your tip longevity/performance but thats another story altogether...

Pocket size? Shims, Cut? Angle? Help AZ Community

I play pretty regularly on a friends GC IV with 4.25 inch pockets and it definately changes the way you play... You can say goodbye to cheating pockets off the rail, but it does tighten your game up. After shootin on other tables, whenever I go there it takes about 20 minutes to adjust but its...

    9 ball push rule question

I had somebody do this to me in a set to 25, 5 ahead for a couple bucks... I was getting the 8 and without fail even after making balls on the break, or if I came up dry, he would push and drop the 8.... :shakehead: I say let em do it and just make sure every shot he gets is a kick or jump...

    New Info Regarding APA Rankings

Correct sir... Showing the formula doesnt encourage sandbagging, lack of integrity and greed do... When I was 19, I started playing APA, and I was a 3. I would shoot left-handed in league, just so I looked awkward, miss some easy shots while leaving my opponent half hooked, and then win when...

    New Info Regarding APA Rankings

This information is posted publicly on the internet, therefore me trying to help the OP by giving him correct information after his LO misinformed him is not irresponsible. I understand where you are coming from as far as widespread sandbagging is concerned. Thats why I dont willingly point...

    Gambling question

Congrats!! You still think you guys play close?? Giving up the 7 out is some pretty serious weight and if youre splitting your about a ball and a half to 2 balls better than he is... ====> Not that close! With this game plan you definately go about learning how to win in a different way(ie...
