    ae schmodt pro 8 atlas

I posted this on the table review section but got no responses. Anyone have this table, and if so how does it play. I know the pockets are smaller than my current table which has buckets for pockets and even at age 73 plays too easy. Any guidance on this table would be helpful

Ae schmidt atlas pro 8 foot

Can anyone comment on this table as to playability. My current Brunswick has buckets for pockets and even at 73, I find it too easy. I know the pockets are tighter on the atlas. Any thoughts would be helpful. A pro 8 is as big as I can fit

    Ball return versus drop pockets

I agree, I play with a guy straight pool once a week for 5 hours and the sound will drive you nuts. Sold the table and got drop pockets for that reason.

    Noisy Phones in pool room

How about we dig a huge hole in the desert and bury every one of them and never produce another. We all survived with land lines and phone booths. Kids are destroying themselves and there is no place for superman to change his clothes

    Willie Mosconi

At the 1992 US OPEN straight pool tournament in New York City at the Roosevelt Hotel Willie was there in am honorary capacity. On the last night I saw him leaving in the lobby. I asked for his autograph and the guy he was with waved me off and said no autographs. Willie over ruled him, signed my...

im keeping my new cloth spotless and clean

Also beware of guests who chalk their cue with the tip over the table. Dumps large amounts of chalk grit on the cloth. I see the pros do it all the time, but they don't have to clean up after themselves

Today I ran over 20 balls twice

Good runs. Back in the 80's I frequently ran in the 30's, but now at age 73 I am lucky to get an occasional run in the 20's. I have been playing on 860 for 30 years so I am used to it. Look out if you end up on regular cloth, you will need to adjust to the slow speed

conical taper and a closed bridge

Its the same on all forums. Over on the corvette forum there are people who say its white if you say its black, its ugly if you say its beautiful, or its slow if you say its fast. Always an argument

    What about Meucci?

I have 4 new Meucci's and love them. All have the black dot shaft. I have experienced none of the problems that are often mentioned. I love the way they hit and at age 73, still have an occasional run in the 30's playing straight pool. I love them, just my 2 cents.

conical taper and a closed bridge

I have played with a wide variety of cues over the last 40 years from adam, pechauer, to predator and many more. Somehow I always end up coming back to Meucci. I don't know if its mental or physical but I just seem to play better with Meucci.

How is Mike Sigel NOT in Straight Pool Hall of Fame?

I saw mike run 150 and out at the 1992 US OPEN straight pool championship in New York at the Roosevelt hotel . He graciously chatted with a bunch of us spectators after the match.

    Pool Not Being Fun Anymore?

I agree with your assessments. I have found that with all sports we reach a level and that's as far as you can go. Started playing in 1960, by 1985 had reached a level where given a decent break shot could run in the 30's a couple of times in a game to 150. That was it, no matter how much I...

    Carbon Fiber shafts (opinion)

I believe the most important thing with shafts is to find one you like and use it on all your cues. Don't switch back to other shafts. I probably will take grief but love the meucci black dot. Have it on 4 meucci butts and love the way it hits and yes been predator, pechauer, and ob.
