I do appreciate AZB that's why I've been here for a long long time. Advertisers pay for the forum not the members as do pretty much every forum. I say let the majority decide if replying on a sales post is necessary and then the mods can correct the rules as needed to satisfy the members...

Should other members be allowed to reply in sales posts?

It's a pretty simple question. Should other members be allowed to reply to a sales posts? Reply here with your reasoning as to why or why not.

    For sale section

Some do pay for premium membership as you know. Doesn't matter though it's about professionalism and there is nothing professional about allowing comments in a sale post. As a buyer and I do buy a lot over a few forums, I don't want to look at a sales ad and have to sift through a bunch of...

    For sale section

It's not just a hobby forum, billiards is a profession for many players, there are plenty of professional cue sellers here too and I'd bet they prefer a higher level of professionalism as well. No one needs to reply to sales ads and ebay is the standard selling format to follow. No...

    For sale section

Not a general forum post, a for sale post where a seller posts an item with details that is stand alone and not meant for replies or retort by random buyers or members. Not everyone understands what professional means, that's the way I prefer to do business I don't need or want random people...

These sold ads will continue to fall off the page as new or bumped posts come in so it's not really a big deal unless comments are still allowed then it will get bumped again. Another good reason to not allow any comments at all, bumping sold ads.

    For sale section

What I'm saying is there shouldn't be any comments allowed in for sale posts at all as most forums do. There is literally no reason to allow comments on a sellers post just like on ebay it's just a sale ad that requires no input or critique from anyone. If no replies are allowed then the...

    For sale section

So much easier to just say no commenting on for sale posts. Sellers should be smart enough to edit an ad to address new questions and sellers should be able to handle a few questions and the "I'll take it"in PM's. Mods in other forums delete comments in for sale and they do issue warnings...

    For sale section

It doesn't really work though. The forum owners make the rule and members are supposed to follow the rules. As for the other points you make there is a public forum for addressing those issues. I am on a few other forums like watches, knives and others and they all prohibit replying to for sale...

    What is this cue worth?

Well it's in pretty good shape, nice pics, I like how you can flip through them. Is that a 5 point?

So Mezz has a new joint pin

True they do use inserts now however I never had a problem with the W/W shafts in 40 years.

So Mezz has a new joint pin

    Got ya. Makes sense

So Mezz has a new joint pin

Not even close. Wood to wood works very well and will be a standard forever. The fancy new inserts in the shaft are not that new, huebler used nylon back in the 80's. Truth is any time you add another piece you risk a bad interface that can come apart so the insert idea isn't very smart. If mezz...

So Mezz has a new joint pin

It's what the retail market terms "change for the sake of change" every industry does it.

    Cue ID

Maybe someone here knows the maker. Has a leather wrap piloted joint, shaft has an aluminum insert so likely a cheap cue however the butt seems pretty well made. Thanks for any help guys and gals.
