    Chinese carom/pocket billiard game

I've had Robert Gomez run 3 consecutive points on me. In Houston we play if you foul, i.e. hit all 3 balls out of turn, you owe every player whatever the bet is for 1 point. Once we were playing with 4 people including myself for $20 a point. I fouled and it cost me $60 Fouling is more common...

    Chinese carom/pocket billiard game

Taiwanese carom is played on a pool table, NOT a carom table. Even though there are other variations of the game played on carom tables. There are 4 balls including the cue ball. 1 white, 1 yellow and 2 reds. Color matters but number doesn't. It's a 3-sequence game in order to score 1 point...

    Chinese carom/pocket billiard game

It's called Taiwanese carom or 235. Super fun but really hard. Like really hard. I think most players shouldn't play it if you don't have a strong cue ball.

Matchroom Major event -Hanoi Open (10-15 October),Vietnam, Winner $30K

You can also hear him say, "10". 5 seconds before his shot. But when he yelled 5 it seemed a little louder maybe facing towards Gorst. I also don't think Gorst intended to concede. He was just frustrated and was like screw it.

I think Gorst got sharked, you can hear someone yell in the crowd during the middle of his last stroke.

    Harry Sims interview

One interesting thing is, top pool equipment now plays closer to carom equipment than it used to. Basically slicker equipment in pool. Of course it's still much different but it's a lot closer. So when it comes to adjusting from one game to another, well... I don't have the answer. I'd say for...

Do you agree with his comment about having to choose one discipline over the other in order to be a champion? What about Boston Shorty?

    Billiards/Carom Instructors

If you are trying to play caroms to improve your pool game, there is nothing wrong with playing it on a pool table. In the past, I used to think, that playing caroms on the pool table was quite silly. but carom tables play much differently than pool tables. You'll hear good players say things...

Who said you can't do a 9 rail bank on a Valley??

On another note. I think a table that plays a little too fast is far better than a table that plays a little too slow. Why? Because you can do more with the cue ball and you don't have to sacrifice the object ball with power in order to get position. i.e, rattling the object ball cause you hit...

Any Reason Not to Use a Brush or a Vac With a Brush Attachment on Cloth?

I think that works well too. I've heard people complain that water hurts the felt. If that's true, what happens when it's a humid day?

Any Reason Not to Use a Brush or a Vac With a Brush Attachment on Cloth?

At my local spot I play 3c, they vacuum the tables after every game. This is common practice in 3c These particular tables are the fastest playing tables in Houston and they don't have to replace the felt that often. But they do anyways about once a year. I doubt the brush hurts the felt but...

One Pocket Skills v Jump Cues

From my experience when my opponent jumps. A very large majority of the time he misses the whole object ball or doesn't even come close to making it. I actually get excited when they go for the jump vs the kick. And when I know a player is dependent on that jump cue. I'll play safe accordingly.
