DCC 2010 AZ/1P members room info

rain dance Looks like there will be plenty of rain to go around at DCC this year, but it's going to be a little too warm for snow most of the time (cross fingers, knock on wood, etc.): http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/tenday/SDF:9

One handed - one pocket rule question?

For the DCC one-handed one pocket mini, the rule has always been that you can use the rail to support the cue. So, it's not 100% 'jacked up' pool. I assume this year will be the same.

    This is gonna hurt dcc

The DCC can't change any dates now as everyone has made their hotel and travel reservations already. For 2010, it is what it is. Also, I don't think that most pros play in the banks and one pocket only because of the 'Master of the Table' prize money. That's an incentive for sure, but there are...

    This is gonna hurt dcc

Anything that pumps more REAL money into pool is a good thing, and while it's logical for some pros to flock to the WTC 2010, those same pros would have played in BOTH the DCC and the WTC in 2010 if they weren't going to overlap by one friggin' day. If they didn't overlap, these same pros would...

    This is gonna hurt dcc

Never mind. The WTC 2010 brochure states that the tournament is from Jan. 30 - Feb. 7 and the TOP 16 teams will play from Feb. 3-7. Once again, another example of the world of pool shooting itself in the foot...

    This is gonna hurt dcc

Maybe there's hope yet. Notice how on the sites with details on the WTC 2010 mention two date ranges: Jan. 30 - Feb. 7 and also Feb 3. to Feb. 7. On the flyers on the sites, they mostly say Feb 3 - 7, so let's hope that the actual tournament is Feb 3-7 and the expo that goes along with it starts...

Is there any information available yet on the status of transportation to the Horseshoe from the Louisville airport for the DCC? Myself, I'll be looking for transport from the airport to the Horseshoe anytime on the morning of Friday Jan. 22 if anyone else if looking to share a ride. Thanks and...

    New classic Scruggs...

That's a great looking cue, simple and classic. Very nice. Does Tim do Ivory piloted joints now? The new cues I've seen from him with ivory joints all seem to be the radial joints. Just curious. Also, can you explain a bit more on Tim's 'new' taper he's using on his shafts? Is that all...

tournaments in the new orleans area?

Is the one pocket tournament at Buffalo Billiards happening this Friday (Nov. 6)? Anyone know what the format is and how long the tournament usually lasts? Gonna be in NO this week, and a free one pocket tournament sounds like it might be worth checking out.

Best looking cues with NO ivory

Looking at all the custom cues available nowadays, it seems > 90% of them have some or a lot of ivory in them. So, let's see something different: nice looking cues with NO ivory in them. Bring 'em on...

New pool hall in Stoneham, MA

Anyone know anything about a new room that opened up in Stoneham, MA, north of Boston? I heard someone mention it in passing, but I haven't been able to find out anything about it or even if it exists. Thanks.
