It has a little more solid hit than the 314-2 and a little more deflection, but not much. I seem to be able to put more English on the cue ball with the Vantage, but I am not sure if that is due to the medium predator tip on the Vantage and the hard Kaumani tip that I have on the 314-2... So...

Nobody can tell you how much deflection they have. Table conditions, humidity, cue ball type, speed that you hit the cue ball and how far you bridge are just a few factors. Without controlling all variables you can not determine the shaft deflection vs one of the other variables.

I have been playing with the Vantage shaft for about a month now and it does play very nice. I like the solid hit it gives. The shaft has very low deflection and it plays very consistent.

yep... I play more safeties on guys like that, just to get under their skin.... :thumbup:

Better players like to have the option of playing defense. Defensive shots require more thought than pocketing balls. I find that most smart players that are also good players love defensive shots. I find that bar room bangers that are not so smart (or drunk) hate defensive play.

I am playing with the Vantage shaft and I love it so far. It is a very solid shaft with very low deflection. The larger size does not bother me because the taper is very long.

That is a good idea. I think that is a good penalty system for 9 ball. For 8-Ball, they could give the team that is not over the point difference. For instance if one team is 21 and one team is 25 then give the team that is 21 add 4 points to their score. Sure it may be better for the team...
