    Burnishing the tip

I thought layered tips weren’t supposed to mushroom. Shouldn’t the sides stay good too? I have good LePros on all my player cues finally. There is at least 50-60 hours on one with marker on the outside. It’s beginning to wear off and could use a refresh. The other two aren’t even burnished and...

Are finger grooves in jump cues marketing gimmicks?

I’ve never used a jump cue. But it’s probably more for eye appeal than anything. Or maybe there is just a bit more to it. Like an avg height player will be around these finger grooves on most regular jump shots. Look at how many players hold their cues below the linen wrap on shots. Thats...

    Konrad’s journey through suckage!

Force follow is good when you are playing on faster conditions than you are used to or the table is rolling funny. Stick that CB near the bottom rail instead of rolling it there. Comes in handy occasionally…. my favorite force follow. OB near side pocket next ball down table at/below the 2nd...

    Konrad’s journey through suckage!

Surefire way to know you are getting better. The game isn’t interesting to you unless your opponent is playing safe. If I’m not being safetied that guy best be on beast mode or I already know I won. Probably like that for a lot of other players too. Gets really disappointing sometimes when...

Practice 8 or 9 more often

Most the Filipino players I know would beg to differ. They won’t play 8 ball for money even if their opponent isn’t as good as them in rotation. Different strokes for different folks.

Practice 8 or 9 more often

Why does everybody at the hall look at me funny when I practice 1 pocket by myself? Is it that weird? It’s not very often I play at the hall(usually at home), but there isn’t another game that I can safety myself in without getting bored. Sometimes I’ll even change it up and have 1 of the...

Practice 8 or 9 more often

You all practice 8, 9, or something else the most? I hate 9 ball without an opponent with a passion. So 50% 8 ball, 30% banks, 10% 9 ball and 10% other stuff. Guess you’d say I’m an 8 ball player. 9 ball is getting a little less boring now that my game has improved though.

    Throw vs Cut

I don’t like throwing in balls that are farther away at a light angle. I usually aim to compensate for the throw rather than playing the throw on those ones. 2 different aiming methods.

    Konrad’s journey through suckage!

You want to know how soft players have gotten just look at APA team stats. The way they list wins/matches. The don’t list wins and losses. I think it’s because it doesn’t “feel” as bad when only the wins are listed outright. I listed our teams wins/losses earlier on the group chat instead and...

how are ya'll doing in league ?

Thank you! I think I figured it out. Their 4 players went over 19.

how are ya'll doing in league ?

So we get bonus points when a team screws up like that? If so. The best part was their 7 lost (19-1) and their 8 lost (14-6). They both needed 2 games and had to play. So both lost pretty bad and it puts us out of first by 6 points going to final week. We are first in 8 ball. It’s been a great...

how are ya'll doing in league ?

Here’s one I’ve never seen before. They played a 7 and an 8 and couldn’t make the 23 with any of their other players. Anybody seen this before?

    Digitalpool brackets with buyback?

Why don’t they just run it double elimination with the losers bracket being people that buyback. If they don’t buy back, you just mark them as a forfeit. Otherwise, like other people have said you’d have to change the whole format of the tournament. Only way what you’re saying can work is if...
