    Pool Table Light

I did TONS of research on table lighting to facilitate the build of the two custom fixtures below. IMO, the light you pictured doesn't provide enough light; it's not large enough. You want a fixture about 100" long to produce enough light for the entire table. In terms of how much light and...

    Pocket Facings for Olhausen

The "Olhausen Rattle" will not be fixed by just replacing the facings, regardless of what you want to tell yourself. The angle of the pocket openings needs to be reduced. There are two ways to fix this. 1. Subrail extensions, pockets recut to correct angles and desired size, new cushions and...

Refinish/Paint Gold Crown Pool Table Light

I believe it is. I'm not sure I'd paint mahogany, but that's just me. I made mine out of poplar.

Refinish/Paint Gold Crown Pool Table Light

While I did not paint an original, I did make my own and painted it to match my restored Gold Crown I. If you do decide to paint, use a Door and Trim or Cabinet Urethane Enamel as it will offer a better finish and dry harder than latex wall paint.

    How Long Between Ball Polishing?

I clean the balls before every session in my ball cleaner using a mixture of 8oz 91% Isopropyl Alcohol with 2 tablespoons of Aramith Ball Cleaner. The balls come out clean, shiny, but not slick. Very much a "fresh out of the box" feel.

    Long distance move and storage

With all the work I put into my table, I don't think I'd sell it and start over. I suppose I could do it all again but I'd rather not if I didn't have to.

Aramith Duramith balls getting dirty quicker than others?

The red marks on the cue ball are obviously red chalk marks. The spots on the balls appear to be from pocket liners. What kind of table are you playing on and what are the pocket liners made from? What do you use to clean the balls?

    Dress code in tournaments

Too much confusion. Just have the dress code. The dead money that do not want to comply will easily be backfilled by dead money willing to comply.

Yapp winning, with a foul! Just like Maradona making a goal with his hands :D

At the end of the day, who cares? What's done is done. There are blown calls all the time in sports. Case in point. I was watching the Dodgers/Pirates game last night. The home plate ump missed a foul tip third strike on Will Smith. What's Will supposed to do? Tell the ump he missed it...
