I am not sure how well known it is, but Kim Davenport originally hails from McAlester, Oklahoma which is a relatively small city in the southeastern part of that state. Many other great players have either come from or still reside in Oklahoma, IMHO.

Hey, Jay! I think that Don's last name is actually spelled "McCaughey",but is phonetically pronounced as McCoy. Not that it matters much, other than for the sake of personal accuracy.
