    New classic Scruggs...

    My new Scruggs arrived a few days ago. Please forgive the quality of the pictures, they don't do the cue justice. 4 coco points into birdsey with a slotted diamond and 2 dots in each point. 4 veneers clear maple, maroon, orange, and black leather wrap hoppe ring, bumperless coco buttsleeve with...

    Comet Billiards Closing

    It is sad, I'm from nowhere near Comet, but I used to enjoy the ustream by Accu-stats. The owners had it right young people today don't have the patience to learn the game, they want instant gratification and can't put in hours and hours of frustration to get up to speed. It is kind of rampant...

    Comet Billiards Closing

    You know I think you hit the nail on the head. A "Pool Room" can not survive what can survive is the terrible place to play, a nightclub with pool rooms. Sucks, doesn't it?

    Where Do You Carry Your Cash?

    Generally I'm not carrying more than 50 bucks and I carry it in my wallet. On the rare occasion, like when on vacation, that I carrying enough to thicken my wallet I carry it folded in no particular pocket. Steve. <-- thinks money management is much simpler when you don't gamble (like me).

    The moose head bridge....>=(

    Can't say I like that Omni Bridge at all. Only two heights to choose from and the elevated heights don't look high enough to do the job. I'll stick with the "Moosehead".

    Where and when did you get your first POOL experience??????????????????????

    At about age 14 (which would have been about 1958) at a Roller Skating Club party. It was in the house in which Daniel Webster lived when he was a US Senator in Marshfield, MA. The owner of the roller rink lived there and had a pool table in one room. Instantly fell in love with the game, but...

    Where is John....?...Barton.....?

    Jamison, Let's assume that Sterling's motivation was for PR, a proposition I can believe of any business and any businessman. Does it really matter, some kids will get the use of some badly needed equipment. Probably not the best equipment in the world, but probably much better than they had...

    The moose head bridge....>=(

    I've used it for many years without a problem. Whenever I have it in a position like you describe I find another angle for the bridge or worst of all hold it in the air while I shoot. It might be a good idea to take one of the slots that is seldom used and widen it. Maybe I'll try that with one...

    !!!!!!!Joel Hercek Masterpiece!!!!!!!

    That is an incredible cue.:eek: One of the best uses of an ivory handle ever done. The trouble is that now if I ever get to the top of Joel's list he'll refuse to do the simple cue I can afford. You know the old song from WWI "How you going to keep down on the farm after they've seen Parii?"...

    Who is Your Favorite Accustats Commentator?

    You can't beat Bill, some others have an equal level of knowledge, but no other communicates it as well. Danny also is good, but he goofs around too much. Bill and Danny are without doubt the best combination. Billy and Grady are also pretty good together when they aren't bickering.

    Wizard vs kamui black tips

    Haven't tried the Wizard, but I've tried a Kamui Black and was not particularly impressed. Nothing wrong with them, just nothing special IMO.

    Nice case. I noticed the little chalk drawer. It is interesting and unique, but do you really think it will serve any useful purpose?

    Silver Cue Billiards in Woburn MA RIP

    Of course... did you realize they wanted to reopen Good Times in Brockton, but they were blocked because it was thought they'd bring a "bad element" into Brockton. Be serious, how much worse could the "element" get in Brockton. I think it more likely they were blocked by the Westgate Bowl.

    Low Deflection Shaft for Beginner

    If you're truly a beginner you shouldn't be using much english and you probably shouldn't notice much, if any, difference between a normal shaft and an ld shaft. If you don't already own one don't buy one yet. Maybe never buy one, I had a predator and went back to a standard shaft.
