    Cues from a living legend

Could you even bring yourself to shoot a game of pool with one of those? If I were fortunate enough to be able to afford one I'd have to wait until I could afford a pool table worthy enough to play on. I also bet it'd be hard to shoot good with simply because you couldn't take mind of your cue...

How to properly design a cue?

I'm thinking that I want points (8?) with veneers ( no floating points ). I don't yet know about inlays in the forearm. I may go with the club symbol or keep looking for a cool gemini symbol. My wife is convinced that I'm of Viking ancestry, so maybe some Viking or Norse runes. In alot of...

How to properly design a cue?

Bandido, here is an image of the club symbol. The zodiac symbol for gemini looks like the roman numeral for 2, sometimes with a curve in the vertical bars and sometimes in the horizontal. I guess I was hoping for something a little more cool with that, I'll keep looking.

How to properly design a cue?

Hi guys, Sometime soon I would like to design a cue to be made for me. Should I figure out what I want and then submit the ideas to different cuemakers or should I pick a cuemaker and have him help me with the design? Regarding inlays, how difficult is it to make a new design? I wanted to...

Hi Zim, what does cue #4, or the top cue above, go for? What materials is it made from? Thanks

    Opinions on Tulipwood

Hi guys, I'm usually a deep, dark wood kinda guy, however, I've found myself drawn to tulipwood lately. What are cuemaker opinions of it? Does it have any particular kind of playing characteristics? Do the colors in the wood fade with time? Thanks

    Beginnings of A Collection

I appreciate the offer, Zim. Currently, my cue buying is on hold. My wife's birthday is coming up with Christmas just a month behind it. As I'm no big fan of sexual frustration I'll be saving my money for those occasions. ;)

On my pc at home, which is cable, it's moving along pretty good right now. We'll see how it's doing on the T3 at work tonight.

    Beginnings of A Collection

Ok...you've convinced me to add Andy Gilbert to my list of potentials. Geez with all these cues I want it might be time for a career change....hmm...pool shark is out, I get beat too much...maybe a bank robber or gigolo...tuff decision. BTW, Steve Kornele was very pleasant to deal with. I'm...

Glad to know it's not just me. Say, how do I put a picture or icon next to my name? S.E.

Slow site or is it me?

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and am experiencing slow going. I'm on a T3 line and it seems like I'm back on dial-up. Is this common here or is something wrong on my end? Thanks

    Beginnings of A Collection

The online business was Hawley's Billiards in Dallas, Texas. I ordered a Longoni cue, the one with octagonal grip, from them. When it arrived I discovered a scratch under the finish. I drove 4 hours to Dallas, I lived in Arkansas at the time, to see what I could do about getting the problem...

    Beginnings of A Collection

Currently I have several cuemakers I'm considering including Sherm, Michael Webb, Murray Tucker, Keith Josey, Madison Bob, Mark Bear, Bryan Mordt and maybe Jim Buss. I'm also looking to have a cue designed for me and I may have Steve Klein do it. I like his work and he lives about an hour from...

    Beginnings of A Collection

Joe, I bought the DP cue because I didn't like (trust) the way a dealer was going to handle a problem with a Longoni cue that I had bought through the mail. I was dealing with him in person at this time. The DP was $100 more and I liked the way it looked so I gave him the $100 and left. I...

    Beginnings of A Collection

Hi guys, I'm new to the site. It's great to see everyone's cues. I hopping on the wagon with a couple of shots of my collection so far. L to R: Dale Perry, Adam (20+yrs old), Steve Kornele and Steve Klein. The last two are newly acquired this summer and are great playing cues. I've had the...
