    5/16x14 Tap

What do you need such a long tap for? Doubt you will find others that need one that long.

BCA league night - foul or no foul?

ok, I get it now. Had it also been a jump shot hitting the object ball above center, the cue ball would have gone a lot further down table too, maintaining more of its initial force. I agree, double hit.

    Identify cue help

Is there a chip in the butt of the cue where the mark is? Does the mark go over the chip? What was used to make the mark?

Exactly what are you arguing with me? Here is a hint, look at what I was replying to.

Cue ball and Object ball travel.

see specifically, on page 3 of TP A 16, at a half ball hit, which is a 30 degree cut, the object ball will have 62% of initial force, while the cue ball will have 56%

Cue ball and Object ball travel.

Actually, a half ball hit doesn't equate to half the energy dispersion. The object ball acquires more of the force than the cue ball retains. It is more of a cut to see an equal dispersion.

Cue ball and Object ball travel.

I remember that guy having a system for cue ball travel, and it made sense from what I saw, but I remember not getting much of it unless you bought his dvds.

BCA league night - foul or no foul?

For anyone interested on the first video at 5:42 you will see the mysterious cue ball going forward past the contact point after a good hit with an elevated cue. On the second video at 1:00 you will see what happens when you don't elevate your cue enough attempting that type of shot. ETA...

Cue ball and Object ball travel.

Along with everyone else, the more you try to put it into numbers, the longer it will take to get it into your game. How much pressure and distance should you apply to each leg when taking a stride uphill or downhill, turning left or right, etc.... you will never learn to walk right. You know...

    Who's cues hit like (*&%?

My Carmelli was a very fickle thing. I had good days when I could play well with it, and bad days where I could hardly make a ball. I didn't think the hit was bad, or that it felt wrong in my hands. I think that it was too whippy. I had someone else try it out for a while, loved it, and he...

I was told you always have a shot.

It is easy. Just try it ten times, stop recording every time you miss, and post the one you make on Youtube.

Tip press vs. natural work in

Here is a new idea. Sit a tip under one of those automatic power hammers for a day or two. Trim it to shape every so often, and repeat. (is that what you are talking about with impact?) I notice on new tips, I can go weeks reshaping it to my desired radius, never removing anything from the...

BCA league night - foul or no foul?

Think about this though. Did the cue ball hit the object ball while on the table, or did it hit while in the air? Have you ever seen a break shot where the cue ball starts to leave the table before hitting the rack, and after hitting, flies forward off the table? Isn't this the same stance...

BCA league night - foul or no foul?

That is pretty much how the APA leaves it too. It could be an obvious double hit, but he was jacked up and shooting at an angle (like in the video) so it was a good hit.

    What is the BIG DEAL

I have a feeling he is talking about the misinterpreted APA rule that everyone thinks they know and like to tell you as soon as you pick up a different cue. Just like the three strikes and your out while breaking. I have had it happen to me back when I played. The closest rule that touches on...

BCA league night - foul or no foul?

While the old chalk distance shot is easy enough with a level cue, I have a pretty hard time stroking a shot that is half a centimeter apart. I would love to see a video of you doing this, so that I can learn from it.

BCA league night - foul or no foul?

Look again. Put your mouse on the contact point before the shot, watch how the cue ball jumps over it completely.

That isn't the same approach angle on the shot. The OP angle isn't that extreme. Look at 1:17
