He said it because at the time it was TRUE! I have the same match and Nicky was right. Earl didn't know how to play SP at that time. If you watch the match, it is quite obvious that Nicky was toying with Earl and getting in his head. The sad thing is by the time that tournament was played...

Just wondering if any one out there has any memories or road stories of Nick Vlahos aka "Nickie the Indian". He was a road player from Salem, Mass.. In his youth he was quite the beast and one of the most feared road players from the Northeast. I know Joe Tucker knew him, Tom McGonagle knew...

Amazing!!! Jay, You never cease to amaze......what a memory! I can't remember people I met yesterday. How many hours did you spend with that crew? I did notice that "Shorty" wasn't in the picture....hmmmm,..interesting.....they would have had to put him in the front row just to be seen.

Great Idea.. Why is there no US national championship? It could be organized similarly to the US amateurs, qualifiers thruout the country by region and then a National Title. That would create some excitement all over the country if promoted properly.:confused:
