    Official 14.1 High Runs

I agree with Jay, the Brunswick pockets back then were buckets and soft. I the equipment were the same today, and the players played straight pool, the records would be broken. Especially if the popularity of the game was such that the top pro's did many exhibitions. (ie - more chances)...

    Official 14.1 High Runs

I remember stopping in to Chelsea's and watching Geo Makula run 240something. I had seen lots of 100's & 150's and such from Pat Howey and a few others, but had never seen a run that high. I was quite impressed. Frankly, I only remember seeing one other run in the 200's and the was Sigel...

    A remarkable foul -- 2007 WC 14.1

I too was there watching and still can't believe he missed. Funny how you're on a run and all the sudden a number gets to you, and bam, it's over.

More Shots from World 14.1 2007: Danny Harriman's Bad Roll

Maybe he could have come in shorter on the 7, specially if the 7 was actually that far off the rail? Seems like with those shots I gauge the speed to get around the table and to the bottom rail....and somehow it gets there. If you play stright pool, this happens to everyone sometimes.

Effective Breakshots by Thorsten Hohmann at World 14.1 Championship 2007

Drawing back to the rail... Is it possible table/equipment conditions dictate when is a good opportunity to play the break shot this way? For example, if I knew I could break the pack wide open with my first hit on the stack, I may opt/gamble to hit the first break shot harder to spread the...

    Intentional foul situation (straight pool)

I'd play the 10, the 13's sittin on the 6 just right. After the shot flys in, I believe the correct move is turn to your oppnent and laugh. Then a nice 50 or 60 & out. :D

What do you do here?? 14.1 question

Punt? ....no, I'd play it, it's a break shot, what more could you ask for? 14.1 is a difficult game to win waiting for your opponent to make mistakes. Nope, it's a great opportunity, I shoot it, medium speed to the pack - like I expect to get a shot after it clips the side.
