    The Pleasure of Small Motions

I read it. I haven't read many pool books, but I thought it was great. It definitely helped me. The notions taught in it are easy to forget to implement in practice though, you might need to read it 2 times to get a good grasp. I can say confidently (topic covered in the book ;) ) that I have...

Why do most shots get missed by players?

Concentration is up there indeed. "Pleasure of Small Motions" by Bob Fancher addresses this subject very well. Concentration does not mean what many think it does and it hurts them. A very recommended read. Everyone that wants to improve their pool game will greatly benefit from it, I know I...

Playing with a darker colored ferrule?

My boss is always telling me about his fishing stuff. I never fished in my life, but because of him I know a ton about fly fishing. Definitely not for me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Playing with a darker colored ferrule?

You got the point. No need to be pedantic. This forum really is quite toxic, I am not too sure why I bother anymore.

Playing with a darker colored ferrule?

I'm surprised that she knows everyone on earth that ever fitted that description and was able to conclude that they generally don't become good! On an unrelated note, did you know that 87.4% of statistics are made up on the spot? Wait and see ;)

Playing with a darker colored ferrule?

The guy who installed my ferrule told me he installed a blue one for Mika Immonen. Mike Dechaine plays with a black ferrule (colored with a sharpie) That's all I know The difference a darker ferrule makes is negligible, but it still does something.

Playing with a darker colored ferrule?

I ended up having a wooden ferrule installed, I think it looks very nice! The hit feels great too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What drills do your practice sessions consist of?

I usually use the little reinforcement labels that are sold at Staples and such, it works very well. Would be interesting to see something that works without that though!

What drills do your practice sessions consist of?

When you pick up your cue with the intention of improving your game that day, what do you do? This thread is made with the intention of learning new drills. I am always looking for new drills and if they are fun to do, even better. Eventually any drill becomes boring, so it would be great to...

Pro players who did not start playing at a very young age?

When you "run" the table 2-3 times in a row. Running the table is when you pocket the balls necessary for the win in one inning (turn) at the table.

    Question About Pros

Sylvain Grenier, the pro who owns the pool hall where I practice, took a little under 5 years to get to pro speed. He started playing at either 14 years old or 16 years old, I don't remember precisely.

I most certainly have! Some people here are very knowledgeable and I always get some great answers when asking questions.

Do you feel you are more accurate with a smaller tip?

I don't think it helps put more spin on the cueball, but I do feel more accurate with how much english I want to put on the ball / hitting where I want to.

Do you feel you are more accurate with a smaller tip?

Maybe you did not seek information as much then :)

Playing with a darker colored ferrule?

I have seen very few cues that did not have a white ferrule. I always thought it was a bit weird since the cueball is white, why would you want the end of your cue to be the same color (apart from the tip) as the cueball? So yesterday I tried something that many of you will tell me is...
