Jay Helfert resigned as Tourney Director at the US Open

EDIT 2 : I just read Jay's reply to the thread. The way this went down is ridiculous. Jay definitely made the right decision. EDIT : I wasn't very clear on that point, but it seems the matches had already begun when the draw was modified (I didn't know that part, didn't bother to read much)...

    cue tip question

Does it even matter if it was last week or before I bought my cue (little hint here) or right away when I started playing? Why do you even care? It certainly looks like you are just trying to provoke me. Wouldn't want to start arguing with you, don't want to be punched.

    cue tip question

I like to be informed, so I seeked out that information a while ago :) And even then, isn't it logical that if you want a tip softer than a medium, you would go with the soft version? ;)

Didn't think about that, makes sense.

    cue tip question

I'm guessing you mean a Kamui Black Medium tip. If you want something softer, you might want to try a Kamui Black Soft or Super Soft. Kamui Clear Black Soft Kamui Clear Black Super Soft Note : As far as I know, the only difference between the Clear and non-Clear version is aesthetic, as in...

How does a shorter tip after cueing? Do you cut your tip short after installation?

Well there's that! I'm curious though, why spit on a tip when installing it? Or was it a joke?

How does a shorter tip after cueing? Do you cut your tip short after installation?

Why? I was expecting the opposite: big difference with single layer tips and little to no difference with laminated tips (isn't that supposed to be their advantage?)

How does a shorter tip after cueing? Do you cut your tip short after installation?

"I haven't had the chance to play much with it yet" Played with it for about 2 hours.

How does a shorter tip after cueing? Do you cut your tip short after installation?

Here I am with another question! Hopefully this one doesn't bother too many people :p I had a Ki-Tech Soft installed on my cue about 2 weeks ago. After installation and shaping, there was obviously still very notable length to the tip. I played with it that way until yesterday, where I decided...

Sorry, I feel like being a dream-crushing tool

Hah I wish I could, but I work on weekdays, so gonna have to wait until this evening. :( I posted a few things on the blog in the last few days, nothing major but sometimes I feel like posting a little update here and there.

Sorry, I feel like being a dream-crushing tool

I can't say I'm really surprised about this thread's existence. I fully expected a non-negligeable proportion of people to tell me it's impossible. That being said, it doesn't change anything for me. If anything, it makes me want to practice even harder to prove them wrong. I think I should...

My first progress video; feedback and advice is welcome

Indeed, in some cases I knew a better placement for better position after my shot was available, but I just didn’t think I could make it and was more confident with a easy positioning / hard shot situation.

    $20,000 Challenge to Lou Figueroa.

Oh, yeah, didn't think much about that one. Guess you gotta remove the BIH after a miss for that.

    $20,000 Challenge to Lou Figueroa.

The game you just described souds like a lot of fun. I dislike the "miss the 9, you pretty much lose, even after potting the 8 balls before that" factor of 9 ball, that variant with 15 balls where you have 1 point per ball seems fun, especially with the BIH after a miss.

Why is gambling so popular in pool?

Those are team sports where the fans bet though, different. Although I guess some players of the team themself could bet on their own team? But they don't just go "hey let's play a game for 100$" (or more like 100,000$ in the case of those sports).

Why is gambling so popular in pool?

That's a very simple answer that I didn't think about at all.

I didn't know about golf! Interesting indeed considering how different it is. Also, that's a beautiful playing cue you got there.
