My first progress video; feedback and advice is welcome

Depends on the week! Ranges from 15 hours to 35, averaging 25 I’d say.

Hahah! I tend to do with a lot of things! Sometimes it ends up being wasted money too. I started with a Poison cue, but quickly got seduced by the Sport2 from Predator after seeing a friend at the pool hall with one. So I bought the same cue with the extension. Very useful and works very well...

I really want to straighten out my fundamentals/stance, mostly the first few points of my list a few replies back e.g. Stop dropping the shoulder, stop moving my head, etc I am already working on this as we speak and already I can see that this will help a lot, I seem to hit shots “cleaner”...

It’s unfortunate that so many of you think I am ill-intentioned. It is great indeed to have Sylvain available to help me, but it is also interesting to have the opinion of others. When you want to learn a subject thoroughly, do you get all of your information from a single source? I think I...

I’m really out of the loop on that one, why so many reactions from so many on the glove I use? I really like the easy and consistent gliding regardless of humidity and temperature!

I will make a 4-ball video today or tomorrow! At the beginning of october I will make a 9-ball progress video instead. That should let you see what you are asking for! I think I am better (albeit still bad) at 9-ball, it is the game I usually play.

I think I could beat the 4 ball ghost right now! I might be very wrong though. Will attempt that tonight. Do I take ball in hand after breaking? Also, I’m guessing that I spot pocketed balls on the break? Where do I put the 2nd ball if I pocket 2 on the break?

My first progress video; feedback and advice is welcome

I don't agree with that part. The advice I received in this thread will be very helpful to me and it will be much easier to improve if more knowledgeable players help me spot my flaws and tell me how to work on them. I -could- get better just playing by myself and not looking for...

My initial idea for the videos was playing 10/15/20 racks of 9-ball. Guess I could try that next month!

What can I say, I'm always excited to play pool :D I will definitely try to slow down the mechanics, the jumping around the table is just general me I think.

Thanks to all of you for the very good advice! I will make sure to keep all of this in mind for future practice! I watched the video also and wow did I make mistakes, I seem to not see those when actually playing the shots. I think I will tape myself more often, I think it will help a lot...

Yeah the video was quite big. It just completed uploading a few minutes ago, processing now. I starting playing at the beginning of July, so about 3 months and a half.

[UPDATE: 4-ball ghost video] My first progress video; feedback and advice is welcome UPDATE : So I said I would make a 4-ball ghost video yesterday or today after it was suggested in this thread. So here it is! 4-ball ghost, race to 9, with a few breaks at the end because I was very...

Do you use an aiming system or go by feel?

I still take a peek at the replies of the last page every few days. The thread stopped being interesting a long while ago though, if it ever was.

How to evaluate my progress? 9-ball vs BU exam (or others?)

I meant for a short 1-hour-ish video! Thanks for the advice though.

How to evaluate my progress? 9-ball vs BU exam (or others?)

You mean 14.1? I must be getting the game names confused. I like the idea though! IIRC, Alain has a high run above 400. Something like 403 or 407? Crazy.

How to evaluate my progress? 9-ball vs BU exam (or others?)

Hello! Some of you may be aware that I want to track my progress over the next years and I wish to do so on video. I am still trying to figure out the best way to do so. I think I am leaning more toward the BU exam as it seems to be more thorough, but I feel it misses some important things...

What's the deal with pool players? A sport for angry and shitty people it seems

Hah I definitely didn’t! Good guess though!

I don’t intend to stop because of them, that’s for sure. It just screws up their game and make them easier to beat AFAIK.
