The folks installing your new cloth should have verified that the table was level and rolled correctly. A true table mechanic would due that as part of the job.

Talisman are excellent tips. I have their Pro series in stock in Soft, Medium and Hard. They hold chalk very well, do not mushroom and require little (if any) maintenance.
Triangle also is a very good tip. Yes, they are non-layered. A bit harder than the Talisman Pro Medium. They do have a...
I now use a lathe, but it's not mandatory. When I first started, my "lathe" was one hand holding the tip and the other hand causing the shaft to spin while pressing against my leg.
Burnish with a small piece of un-dyed leather and a bit of saliva. Not too much pressure -- just enough to create...
One solution is to right click then left click on "open in new window". When you close the new window you return to where you were on the list of posts.
Troy...~~~ Faster also
I use Netscape Navigator 6.2 and I also go to the top of the list after clicking "back". Most annoying.
However, using IE, "back" returns me to where I was.
I will NOT switch to IE just to resolve this glitch.
Troy...~~~ Just dislikes IE.
I recommend Talisman Pro in either Soft, Medium of Hard, depending on your preference. They hold their shape, hold chalk well and have no mushroom problems.
Layered tips cost more due to the extra cost of manufacturing.
They cost more to install due to the extra caution required to do the job...
Please do NOT accuse me of agreeing with FL. His post just went on the board first. I've probably installed more tips then FL.
I don't understand paying $20 for the Ultimate Tip Tool®. I have replaced many ferrules 'cuz they get scratched using that thing.

I stock Talisman Pro tips and have installed many on customer cues. I use a lathe.
Having said that, I suggest you NOT stress the layers by sanding from the shaft toward the tip. You could try sanding around the circumfrance of the tip but use caution -- you don't want to scratch the ferrule...
I use Simple Green® diluted with about 2 parts water. Just spray onto a soft cloth and rub down the shaft. I also use cig lighter fluid on a soft cloth. Follow with a brisk rub down with a dry, cloth cloth and finish with a good burnish with a piece of un-dyed leather.
Soft Scrub® and Comet®...
Oh yes, I've been to Hardtimes. Nice room, nice equipment. The tournament room is well laid out both for players and for spectators.
Have yet to meet Sac Tom though.

I get that from none other than players such as Mike Massey, Grady Matthews, Willie Jopling, Ronnie Allen, Bucktooth, and others who have been around the game a long time.
You're correct, it hardly ever comes up though.

This very question has been answered more than once on other boards. All balls owed are spotted, if possible. Obviously, if 3 balls are owed and there are only 2 available balls, the player still owes 1 ball.
Another situation comes up when not playing even. Example, playing 8-7.....

I think yoy are correct to question the number of SARDINE GOZMO's sold. I managed a Room with 34 tables and the owner bought two of them for $150 including shipping. It took almost 6 months to actually receive them though. I then spent considerable time "training" 2 tables after which they were...
