Its a free world... for my money I want to control Whitey & the Cue Ball. If I'm not cheating, I can't control what The Rack does. I want to control the One Ball & Whitey in 9 Ball. 8 ball is another game , but control of whitey is still important.

Learning about the ball's path, after impact, can be done easily by watching YouTube & slowing down the playback... About a week & you'll know as much as the next guy. Be careful to slow it down, so you can see where the Cue Ball is hitting the LeadBall
