    Just like Simonis ?

We just went from Championship Tour Edition to Simonis 860. Already the Simonis is not holding up as well, i.e., lots of divots from miscues on the draw. May specify 860 HR next time and give it a try.

5x10 Brunswick Gold Crown Carom to Pocket Conversion

142, Good! It would be a shame to have it play like a Valley after all that work.

5x10 Brunswick Gold Crown Carom to Pocket Conversion

I'm not a mechanic, but nice looking work. It looks like the nose on the corner pockets are cut 135 degrees?

    Customer-proof tables?

If the predominant business is pool then the customers and staff would care about the tables. Of course we have people that come in to bang balls around for something to do while drinking beer and don't respect the equipment. I've had someone drip tobacco juice from out of his mouth on to a...

Addding snooker or billiard table which one?

I came close to replacing an 8-foot pool table with a 10-foot snooker but decided the novelty would wear off and I'd be waisting space. I love snooker when I get a chance to play but business is business and reality sux.

    I'm not a mechanic ...

Oh yeah, I cleaned the slates too. Only had the guts to charge $100. I'll take a $50 penalty for being so sloooow on the rails and putting the spot on the wrong end. I've finally decided that staples suck especially if you don't have a good stapler:mad: A good stapler is in the works...

    I'm not a mechanic ...

but I finally got tired of covering friends tables for free. So after 4 years and 2 dozen tables I made my first few dollars covering a 7-foot Valley in a private home. I used 3M-10 and Championship Tour Edition. I tightened and/or replaced missing casting bolts, vacuumed out the table, cleaned...

    Shim location question

I'm not a mechanic so you may want to wait for someone else to reply ... but that said, in my experience of setting up tables I've learned to put the wedges next to the screw at 1 & 3.

    glass of water

There are 4 major and 4 minor APA venues in the city, call them competitors if you want. It is standard to charge $5 greens fees per team at all venues. The only time I give away pool is for a benefit tournament. Water only drinkers? We charge $1.00 for 16 oz bottle of water. But I'm lucky...

    valley side pocket fold

I'm not a mechanic ... but you may want to consider Ridgeback Rails too as they have a cut underneath the wood to allow for the three layers of cloth of a hospital fold.

    Glue Down Question

First, I'm not a mechanic, I cover my own tables at Steve's ... on my Valleys I use a lighter roll on the cloth where its exposed at the pockets and brush to bleed-through where it wraps underneath the slate. I don't know if you can do that with a Diamond.

    Divot on The Spot

I'm not a mechanic but I see this alot. The only solution is to replace the spot when the divot forms. If it wasn't for the spot that divot would be in your cloth. I have a very high use table that gets a new spot about every two months. The cloth underneath will hold up until the annual...

    Might be on TV

Watching someone cover a pool table is like watching grass grow unless you want to learn something. Interesting for about 30 seconds to the average person who doesn't shoot pool :boring2: maybe longer if they do. Glad ya'll made the shows though.

Is it OK to use Aramith Ball Cleaner Fluid in the Ballstar Machine?

If all you got is a home table use Bavafongoul's method with the Ball Star. It will work real good. If you got a pool hall with more than two tables it will be a disaster. Even the Ball Star fluid will develop boogers if not shaken daily.

Why I hate Dynamo coin-operated pool tables!

Thank You Glen ... I figured that out 1 1/2 years ago when I bought my pool hall. I finally got the old glue off of 13 Valleys and one POS (an 8-foot Dynamo) and its made all the difference in the world, especially with Ridgebacks on the Valleys. The POS plays well but balls hang in the gangway...
