I do it all the time... with trimmed cloth sometimes over 10 years old or more. If it was done right in the first place and pulled off with care it should not be a problem

A true professional will use a machinist level. If yours doesn’t have one just don’t let him touch anything

Enough room to use the needed tools and to slide your body between the table and the wall is enough (like a foot or so) but it's no fun at all. Don't expect the mechanic to smile and whistle on the job

....brunswick never used k66 as far as i know. Gold crowns 1 & 2 used old monarch profile ( no longer available). 3's used superspeed (very close to k55).
Best is to just put superspeed on and have the subrails extended

Here a recovery includes everything that needs to be done ( leveling, reseaming, pulling all staples out etc...)
I just really insist to show the owner what was done as "extra" work.
They don't hire other mechs after they see all that and i don't have to go through it again

Sounds like all the leveling has been done between the frame and the slates and nothing under the legs. Unless the frame sags really bad you should never need to stack wedges at the seam. If i were to fix it i would probably start over taking the slates off...
