    Joey A and CTE

I remember reading that thread at some point. Here is a post from Spidey: In another recent thread Stan told me that CTE has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with pivoting.

    Cte finally explained?

No sir, don't know you too well but I do think you have succeeded in what you set out to accomplish and I look forward to your presentation. Especially the part about making the same shot/angle with a CB/OB distance of 6 inches and the same shot/angle with a CB/OB distance of 6 feet. Simple really.

    Cte finally explained?

I think it is YOU capitalizing from the term "CTE" when in fact you have developed something else. Since you refused to look at pivot point or gave up before you figured it out you were forced to make it work in another way. You have too much time, work and money invested now to turn back it seems.

    Cte finally explained?

I think many come up with their own version too, including Stan, which is great. Unless they are teaching it as Pro One I don't see a problem either. If they are then contact uTube and maybe something in their policy could have it removed. Link? :) ETA: With Stan's version for instance, I think...

    Reply to Dan White's Questions

Nice video. I couldn't watch it all at work but one thing I didn't see addressed when I skimmed it was the pivot point. Once you get the CTE part done, the pivot point makes ALL of the difference. Your video proves their has to be an adjustment of the pivot point in relation to the CB to OB...

I used to love the raffles here. :(

The Difference Between a Great Shortstop & A Good Pro

I case you haven't heard it is a conspiracy called CTE and kudos to the pros for keeping the secret.

Pivoting systems and their relationship to CTE

Quote was taken from http://billiards.colostate.edu/threads/aiming.html#CTE The part in bold is what determines the CP. Objective or subjective? I don't really care what the answer is, works for me.

Pivoting systems and their relationship to CTE

Thanks for the link. To be clear on Pro1/CTE terminology, "C" stands for both "Center" and also "Edge C"? CenterTE ETA or C (what I refer to as 3 or 9 o'clcok) Offset Pivot to Center 3 or 9, Left or Right, X or Y, IN or OUT... all would be less confusing to convey than having "C" stand for 2...

Pivoting systems and their relationship to CTE

Thanks for clearing that up. Mind boggling actually. About the time I think I got it down (again) I can't get past that claim, though I have been told otherwise by a cryptic guru. Do you have the DVD? Even if not, it's been out a while, I sorta figured it's been out long enough to not be taboo...

Pivoting systems and their relationship to CTE

Does it require knowledge of the opposite side of the contact point? The edge facing the pocket?

Pivoting systems and their relationship to CTE

Yah that would be great to be able to use the same bridge and pivot point every time. I guess the only way I can see that being possible is based on what you mentioned about "foreshortening". Further OB would mean less PARALLEL shift which would make the pivot less and closer OB means more...

Pivoting systems and their relationship to CTE

Nice Vorpal and thanks for trying it out. Usually when I miss a shot it is from choosing the wrong edge (3 or 9) because they both are close but my lying eye is too bad to tell which one is correct. When I repeat the shot using the opposite edge the ball usually drops. Hoping I or someone can...

Pivoting systems and their relationship to CTE

Great post and diagrams. I have used exactly that method in the past and moved on to what I posted earlier. It's been a while since I tried it and will go shoot a few in a minute. Looks like we are on the same page though. Glad to see someone else in the same ballpark. Do you vary your pivot...

Pivoting systems and their relationship to CTE

Well that is sincerely too bad as I just want to learn. Is "being objective" what got Spidey cast out? Because he basically agreed that what I said was accurate about the whole "clock" to identify the CP/pocket/edges etc... I didn't talk about it much 6 years ago because someone was supposed to...

Pivoting systems and their relationship to CTE

But you do have to "choose" a pocket before you shoot. "Choosing" a pocket in relation to the CB/OB is how you get into your stance. Once down on the CB with proper stance I can see how the rest becomes second nature...

Pivoting systems and their relationship to CTE

With this statement I couldn't agree more. As far as the inexplicable line, I think it was misinterpreted years ago when CTE proponents said you did not need to know where the pocket is to make the shot. Which is true when it comes time to stroke, but not true when lining up stance. Still...
