Doing a tip replacement for a friend. He's asking help identifying cue maker. Not my area of expertise. Any ideas what this might be? Thanks in advance.

Wait for the other guy to lag before you do guy

On occasion when I want to play with someone's head I do a real firm double length lag just as my opponent is about to lag. It really screws them up. Sounds like just what you need. With a little practice you would be surprised just how well you can execute this lag.

    Cyclop Pool Balls

Imo, if the seven ball had been in a (pastel) brown, I would have had less of a problem playing with them. Two make two sequential balls (6 & 7) in a similar blue/green theme caused me to hesitate in every rack to avoid making a bad-hit unforced error. I witnessed this happening to others.

    Looking for "home" remedy

Understand that a touch of wax can loosen up a very tight joint when screwing together, but looking for a possible a solution for the opposite situation...a very loose screwing joint until the final turn. Cue hits great and hoping to avoid major re-installation of joint components. Any simple...

My Last SBE...new synonym for "accommodating"...forfeit

Multiple events that overlap create conflicts. That's a given. The issue here was that (1) I was clearly told by SBE Officials that there would not be a conflict because the women previously on the table created the significant delay; and (2) I could have handled a conflict by being offered a...

My Last SBE...new synonym for "accommodating"...forfeit

Sounds like he was at least given the choice...that I got last year, didn't like it but made it and moved on. But not this year...just sayin'.

My Last SBE...new synonym for "accommodating"...forfeit

Hard to respond to this without visualizing a bus approaching. Let me just say, I thought so too (JD & fairness).

My Last SBE...new synonym for "accommodating"...forfeit

Why didn't I think of that? Pay, play and lose...never a conflict. Thanks (lol)

My Last SBE...new synonym for "accommodating"...forfeit

I knew Saturday (3/15) was gonna be a tough day with some difficult decisions to make. But I had a plan. Incredibly, this year's debacle topped last year. Let me briefly describe what happened last year. I was in the final 16 in the Seniors and Super Seniors. Both next rounds were...

league weekly fees same for 30 yrs,has to be time

Got that right. Our local APA LO lives out of state; does little or no work(room owner does it all); now has grand larceny total of $24000 kept for himself which used to be returned to players(not counting his built in profit); for the same minuscule Vegas gaft of $599 and one eighth of three...

Earl and Efren match on youtube

Thanks for the link. Really enjoyed watching Efren. Would never spend a dime, no a penny, to pay to watch Earl. Such a talent, but such an A-hole. How does Earl get to dictate to the racker(Tournament Director) how to rack and re-rack the balls on Efren's break? It reminded me of how our...

Free stuff to a newbee (preferred).

Thanks for the replies. Maybe find something else down the road to share with others. Enjoyed a lifetime of fun and competition playing this game and always seeking new ways to improve my game---even after 55+ years of involvement. Will USPS package Monday.

    Holiday Wholesale

Started to place an order from website using PayPal and it showed an $8.50 s/h fee. Didn't place order. Sent order direct through PayPal. Seems to have worked with no s/h fee. Good luck Jimmy, hope this helps.

    Tournaments and taxes...

Not really Been doing this (horses and casino jackpots) a long time without a formal audit. It's doesn't wash dollar for dollar. If you use software to do your taxes you can see the very little impact it has writing loses against wins. Furthermore, you need more than tickets. Legally, you...

    Hit Man surprised me.

Always admired Thorsten's demeanor at the table, win or lose. But I was quite a bit taken aback by his Gus Hansen imitation at the conclusion of his winning the World 9 Ball Championship. What was that about? Ongoing beef with the crowd? Thought I was seeing an Earl at a Mosconi Cup.
