From Mike Eufemia to Danny Harriman

oy Sean, I couldn't resist, forgive me. i understood your post completely... but needed to read the "Oh! Via" three times. I just thought I'd try to tie it all together.... this did start right in the middle of the Island. Via con dios.

From Mike Eufemia to Danny Harriman

Being a gentile, I sometimes struggle with my yiddish spelling... I'm more inclined to say it, rather than write it [New York ya know]. ...by any chance, did you mean "oy vey" instead of Oh! via?

    sub rail angle

why would we tell you that? I'll say one word.... and it isn't "Plastics" Proprietary you could also say... not too many people are interested. They just want the table to play well and don't care about the details. and Diamond might say... figure it out for yourself, we're keeping that...

    sub rail angle

now we're getting some where This is a great discussion... very interesting! Dartman, thanks for the Championship cushion documentation. It's very helpful. Are other companies providing this level of documentation? You may notice that the nose heights change with the set angle of the...

T-rail bolt system conversion per Mr. Long

look out for the magnets All right... I'd like to invoke " seeing is believing" again. Those magnets are pretty strong and my attitude towards the larger ones is not unlike my attitude towards bear... don't get between them and the food [or the steel] but.... Maybe Mr. Owen can chime in...

    WANTED: 50x100 Diamond Box Light

it's just a box Hi, I was very lucky to find one of the large Diamond lights used for short money about 4 years ago. It was the first one I had ever seen in person. I disassembled it to take it home .... The revelation>> [with slap to the forehead and some Homer Simpson wisdom] >> it's a...

T-rail bolt system conversion per Mr. Long

You'd need substantial inserts into the underside of the rails to accept machine bolts coming through the slate. No inserts in the slate One question would be> is this new mating surface [ slate to bottom of the rail] large enough on a T rail? The modern rails, like on the GC, are quite a bit...

Oscar, are you out there? Maybe Oscar Wilde was right.... Life imitating art, not the other way around. Be well.

A shot from the movie "The Hustler"

time warp Well.... I think you'd need Mr Peabody and the WABAC machine for Crane's shot to have inspired the one in the movie. The film was released around 1960 and this match took place in 1966.

    Table care

5 years and no problems I've used a vacuum for at least 5 years and the cloth [860] has not suffered, in my opinion. When I changed the cloth six months ago, the slate was quite clean too... no build up of chalk. It seems to strike a pretty good balance, as far as I'm concerned: does the job...

    Table care

save your money No need to spend your money. It's fine to use a regular house vacuum. Just use the bare floor or drapery attachment.... no beater. Make sure there isn't too much suction that it grabs the cloth. I have a dedicated head for my table, so I don't have to worry about any dirt...

A shot from the movie "The Hustler"

scratch! It looks like a scratch... I think the cue ball runs up and back and follows the object ball into the corner pocket. The scene is cut with the cue ball a diamond or two up the rail from the pocket. If only I could edit my shots like that.... cut!!!

    Bed cloth spot remover?

try this I've had good luck with drafting cleaning bags. You can find them in art supply stores. Alvin make one... it's about 5 bucks... I think it's called Dry Cleaning Pad. They are a very course powder that's seems like ground up eraser contained in a porous bag. They're used to clean vellum...

Derby City Straight Pool Challenge 2012

tennis anyone? Well, I'm too tuckered out to argue my point, having watched the five set six hour concluding match of the Australian Open. Call me jaded, but not bitter! Please! This match was amazing. Two players, who had worked there way through the brackets, raising their game to play all...

Derby City Straight Pool Challenge 2012

... and they didn't play the finals Is it a game or a sport? Here's pool struggling for and audience and credibility, to some extent. The promoter or governing body decides not to play the finals! I'm sure there are back stories and reasons.... but, after all is said... the finals were not...

Derby City Straight Pool Challenge 2012

Very disappointing Cancel the final match!?!?!? I not sure which hat to wear when taking a slap in the face like this.... a fan of straight pool , a fan of pool, or as a sports fan. Very disappointing. Maybe the Patriots and the Giants could work out the same sort of deal with the NFL...
