Did Souquet try to do the right thing?

Actually "pot calling the kettle black" is an idiom and not an analogy. You could turn it into an analogy by comparing it to something.

    CSI 8 Ball Finals

However, it seems Dechaine voted that it was correct for Shane to advance in the poll above. The players probably know more about the situation and why it was resolved the way it was.

    CSI 8 Ball Finals

That was 1950 when Fifa invited Portugal and France after they were eliminated and neither one of them went. Poor example.

Little Ko wins 8-Ball !!! Big KO ripped off, Pool hangs it's head

What about Souquet? He is the one that created the problem by withdrawing. Hard to believe he couldn't get another flight for the $2500 he was guaranteed to make for 3rd/4th or the $5,000 or $8,000 for 2nd or 1st. Something doesn't add up there???

Little Ko wins 8-Ball !!! Big KO ripped off, Pool hangs it's head

Fifa invited Portugal and France who had been eliminated in qualifying but neither of them went. I don't know if they ever tried that again after 1950. Not much of a precedent.

    Challenge of Champions dump

They are very fortunate that a full investigation was not done at the time. The consequences could have been very damaging. I was the fortunate receipient of a $10,000 first prize in Reno because of a prior dump. The money was withheld from the winner of the prior match and there was talk of...

So is there footage of the famous 1990's Challenge of Champions dumping scandal?

I set up a similar combo for my 3 year old grandson and he made it, using a bamboo pole. Of course he wasn't under the pressure of the top pros and he doesn't know what dogging is yet.

    1p- what's the shot? I am stumped

Intentional fouls are no good because your opponent can foul you back to where you were. I would probably play the 5 ball softly to the rail with a slight cut and try to freeze to the 12 or get it very close to frozen.

Are Systems Really Vital to Play Great Pool?

You know Lou would argue with any answer so here is a source he cannot argue with unless Lou decides to argue with Lou. "On my book shelf I have a complete set of the late Walt Harris' "Billiard Atlas of Systems and Techniques." In those books are over 800 pages of huge steaming piles of...

10th world title at aged 28

Sad part is the woman champion in snooker wins about 400 pounds ($650) the men champion wins 250,000 pounds ($400,000). That's why the great women players from Britain came over to the USA to play pool. Wayne

The Ballad of John and Lou, Part Two

According to Lou Dennis was coaching you on what to do while Lou was figuring out his shot. If so this guy Dennis would have to be the biggest genius in pool. He would have to determine what Lou was going to do (which Lou hadn't even determined), how well he would execute what he was planning...

The Ballad of John and Lou, Part Two

Based on what he has said I would guess he put up $3000 of his own money (or right in that vicinity). I don't know if backer is the right term for the rest of the money, it seems the other $7,000 of action was taken by someone and according to Lou they gave him a jellyroll. Normally a backer...

A Report from the Lou v. Barton Match

If John was getting coached on shots where the coach had 2 or 3 seconds to observe the layout and give advise it would have to be the all time dumbest coaching situation ever in one-pocket. I am a pretty fast player and I would have to be at the table to observe the layout and make my decision...

Lou I can honestly say you are the biggest liar and the most pompous a-hole that I have ever dealt with on AZB.

Could You Play For 10 K?

John here is someone that loves "Fig." Notice his continual use of the tender loving nickname "Fig" The only problem with this post by Targuy was that it was actually Lou using his wife's computer to defend himself. LOL. No telling how low he will stoop to defend himself." following written...

    Another Swanne controversy

I was the one who ended up winning the game. I wasn't sure on the rule and I almost gave my opponent the game because a well respected pro in the stands said I had to respot the 9 ball. I started to do this and then another well respected top player said no I had won the game. I called the...

Now the John vs. Lou poll removed

To be one of the top players in the world you would need a lot of natural talent along with a lot of hard work. To be a great player you could have less natural talent than a top player but put in the hard work or a lot of natural talent but not work hard at it. If you have average to just...
